Goodall has just lost to Gabashivilli in straight sets :( :(
And Baker is 1 set and a break down to Del Potro in his match..... :( :( :(
Timmy's up next though, so i hope he'll be making up for those losses
In matches that don't involve Brit players:
Karlovic vs. Wawrinka 6-3, 3-3
Clement vs. Johansson 7-5, 4-2

Henman is into a 2nd set tiebreak with Russell after winning the first set 6-1.
He also served a ball into Russells face at 5-6 :P

and he wins, 6-1 7-6 (5) although his first serve was only 51% the rest of his stats were pretty impresive, just what he needed :D
SerenaW19 - June 19, 2007 02:28 PM (GMT)
And the string of first round losses is over. Finally :D :yahoo:
Mo aka Mz O'Hara - June 19, 2007 02:29 PM (GMT)
Well done Turbo  About blooming time.....was getting a bit shaky there in the 2nd set and the tie break, but held it together.  :D
Mo aka Mz O'Hara - June 19, 2007 02:30 PM (GMT)
Janx all round on Heyyup. Will set them up, sure Lex won't mind.
trisco - June 19, 2007 02:35 PM (GMT)
Bloomfield V Bjorkman next! I'll have £2534.86 (of Monopoly money) on Bloomfield to win with two bagels. :P
Flame - June 19, 2007 03:26 PM (GMT)
yes, thank f***! tim finally wins a match. if ever in his life and career he ever needed a win, that was it. phew!
MrInvisible - June 19, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
Nottingham was a good decision for Henman - I bet he really appreciated that wildcard. Is it the evil Tursunov in the next round though?
Dinky Jo - June 19, 2007 03:42 PM (GMT)
Looks like Tursunov will win - he won the first set 6-1  I like Tursunov, I know he keeps beating Tim, but i do like him
Bjorkman is currently destroying Bloomfield 5-0 in the second set :yikes:
SerenaW19 - June 19, 2007 04:31 PM (GMT)
O crap Tursunov in the next round is not so good for Tim, his jounrey might be ending there unless he can find some magic
dl04 - June 19, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
Tim got a win( almost rhymes, but what the hell roflmao )
Surely a little confidence booster, his first win since Febuary. However though i feel Tursunov will take out Tim in round2
Flame - June 19, 2007 06:07 PM (GMT)
come on timmy! he might be a mad, super-powerful insane lunatic, but you can do it. get in there and don't take any crap.
SuperBRAT - June 19, 2007 08:07 PM (GMT)
Tim can beat Tursy. It all depends which Tursy adn which Tim turn up.
Flame - June 19, 2007 08:50 PM (GMT)
i hope it's the tursy that tim played in the queen's quarters last year. remember when tursunov swotted the ball away at set point down? it's like he wanted to lose.

Yep i do remember. :)
I quite like Tursy, he's a bit mad and very funny. he has big weapons but they don;t always fire. he seriously needs to polish his net play and volleying. if Tim can get to the net then he shoudl win. Tim needs to realise thsi and go for it. Stayign back is not going to help.
Tennis_Mad_Andy - June 19, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
Just got back from Nottingham not long ago :) What a day!! First ever Tim match I have saw in person and I gave it the old CMON TIM! i few times aswell roflmao Just had to be done ;)
He was really pumped up after some big points when he held his serve after facing about 3 break points etc... was doing a lot of fist pumps and you could tell he genuinly meant it because it looked like it meant a lot to him to win here today to prove a point aswell.
Got a few pics too, not very good quality because they are with my camera phone but its better than nothing.

Last two are Tim walking up the staires to the tennis centre and being interviewed just after the match :)

Hi Andy. Thanks for piccys. Lucky you and glad you saw him live for the first time getting a much needed win under his belt. :D Expect he heard your CMON's at the crucial times.  Make sure you scream at the scoreboard today when he's on court, as he is going to need it with old foe Tursy. Bummer getting him in the draw sooo early. :(

I hate Tursy. and he reminds me of Jim Courier, who always reminds me of that famous Davis Cup tie at Birmingham a few years back when the US beat us in the final rubber. So two reasons not to like Tursy.
GO TURBO TIM :chesire: :yahoo:  :chesire: :yahoo:

Grosjean has just been knocked out by Garcia-Lopez
and Tim vs. Tursy is about to start.......
Tennis_Mad_Andy - June 20, 2007 12:42 PM (GMT)
Awwwww thanks Mo :) Yes I will be shouting at the scoreboard haha :P
I am not expecting Tim to win this but would be delighted if he did!
Dinky, im not surprised Garcia-Lopez knocked Grosjean out, he looked like a very good player in his match against Boggo.
Tennis_Mad_Andy - June 20, 2007 12:58 PM (GMT)
I have a feeling this could be an easy win for Tursunov, 4-1 up already
Tennis_Mad_Andy - June 20, 2007 01:07 PM (GMT)
YES!!!!!!!!! Tim breaks back 4-3 Tursy now and Tim to serve to make it 4-4 PLEASE HOLD TIM PLEASE HOLD

Tennis_Mad_Andy - June 20, 2007 01:13 PM (GMT)
4-4, Henman has 5 aces so far :D
Tennis_Mad_Andy - June 20, 2007 01:17 PM (GMT)
Tursunov was 40-0 up, Tim brought it back to 40-40 but Tursunov won the game in the end to make it 5-4, he also did a serve of 147 MPH that game :o :o :o

GTG do some work as loads to do, will keep eye on Live Scores. Catch you later Andy, and keep cheering for me, Pebs and Liam too.
Tennis_Mad_Andy - June 20, 2007 01:26 PM (GMT)
6-6 now :o 2-1 to Tim in the tie-break, and he also has 7 aces so far.
Manzikert - June 20, 2007 01:38 PM (GMT)
Marathon tiebreaker but it's Tursunov who takes it 7-6(7). Gutting but I hope Henman doesn't let himself get discouraged, and stages the fightback.
Tennis_Mad_Andy - June 20, 2007 01:39 PM (GMT)
cant flippin believe that!!!!!1 Henman 6-3 up in the tie-break, has 2 serves to make it set to him. loses both serves Tursunov wins both his serves, Tim wins his 1st serve then loses his next, Tursy wraps it up to make it 9-7 then
Tennis_Mad_Andy - June 20, 2007 01:53 PM (GMT)
Tim goes 2-0 up, saves 2 break points the next game, then it goes adv Tim, deuce, Adv Tim, Deuce, Adv Tursunov, double fault number 4 for henman and 2-1 :yikes:
This is a classic Henman rollercoaster and I dont think my heart can take much more
