Title: South Korea shock France
sir matchstickmen - June 19, 2006 08:43 AM (GMT)
With a late scrambled equaliser that puts the French in real danger of not qualifying now! :D
SuperBRAT - June 19, 2006 12:00 PM (GMT)
Last time South Korea did really well so I am nto so surprised. George won a lot of money on them finishign in the final four (i think that is what it was).

Wow great stuff!
I like the South Koreans - Not a lot of natural ability or physical strength, but they work so unbelievably hard don't they, so tenacious!
And I loved the way their equalised went in as well - really took the p***! roflmao
I was in the pub at that stage mind...

sir matchstickmen - June 28, 2006 09:02 PM (GMT)
he did score, but the officials defied sense (as they have often this tournament) so the final score was 1-1. end of. roflmao
Hiro hates the fact SK got to the semis last time while the Japs only got to the second round! roflmao

yup :D
they did require 2 (or was it 3 ?) perfectly good italian goals to be disallowed to go through. Home bias obviously

It was the spain match in the quarters where that happened, one of them was disallowed because the linesman said the ball had cross the bye-line despite the fact it never even went near the line! roflmao
Korea did deserve to get that far all said and done, and to be honest they were unlucky against the Germans in the semi!

It's not that fact.
It's the fact that there was corruption.
If they had won all these matches without any unfairly disallowed goals, then I would have respected that.
But it was not the case.
And please don't call us Japs, it really bothers me and usually it's people who hate us who refer us to that.

I don't hate Japanese people. But I hate people who are irrational in their views and, in this case, purely jealous!
You should embrace the fact South Korea did so well - it put asian football on the map a little!

It's not that I think that you hate japanese people, it's just that "Japs" bothers me a lot.
Like I said, if South Korea made it to the semis without corruption, unfairly disallowed goals, I would've respected that.
But it was certainly not the case.
And this is NOT jealousy.
It's a pity cos they have decent players like Park, Ahn(forgot his last name) or Seol.

I don't think it bothered anybody to be honest Hiromiku apart from the teams that might feel a little robbed. And anyway, the luck went in the opposite direction for SK in their last game ;)
I shouldn't get touchy about the Japs thing - it's just like Austrailians calling english people poms, or us calling Americans yanks! roflmao
