Title: Nottingham - Main Draw included

Harry Potter - June 16, 2007 05:52 PM (GMT)
[1] GASQUET, Richard vs SPADEA, Vincent
QUALIFIER vs LAPENTTI, Nicolas
QUALIFIER vs GABASHVILI, Teimuraz
JOHANSSON, Thomas vs [8] CLEMENT, Arnaud

[4] BJORKMAN, Jonas vs [WC] BLOOMFIELD, Richard
QUALIFIER vs DELIC, Amer
LEE, Hyung-Taik vs MIRNYI, Max
GINEPRI, Robby vs [6] MATHIEU, Paul-Henri

[7] WAWRINKA, Stanislas vs KARLOVIC, Ivo
SIMON, Gilles vs PAVEL, Andrei
QUALIFIER vs DEL POTRO, Juan Martin
KUNITSYN, Igor vs [3] CALLERI, Agustin

[5] HRBATY, Dominik vs GROSJEAN, Sebastien
[WC] BOGDANOVIC, Alex vs GARCIA-LOPEZ, Guillermo
[WC] HENMAN, Tim vs RUSSELL, Michael
KENDRICK, Robert vs [2] TURSUNOV, Dmitry

Now, now...The line-up is not top-class, and if he wants to maintain his ranking, Gasquet MUST win this tourney.
Henman is lucky to not get a seed in the first round, although look who's there in round two...
If Tursunov is tired, then I think that Henman has the potential to reach the final (why not win)...The players I would be ware of would be Ivo, Kendrick and of course Tursunov, but that's just about it.

But as usual, it's up to Tim.

Your thoughts?

SuperBRAT - June 16, 2007 08:22 PM (GMT)
I thought Tim had a good draw so I heard, but I'm worried now! Tursy, and Gorsjean is good on grass and has beaten Tim before.

Blond blogger is the one to worry about, Grosjean is past his best, although he might have the mental edge over Tim (looking back to Wimby 2003) should they meet.

Well, best of luck Andy. Hopefully you'll get to see Timmy :)

Flame - June 17, 2007 12:29 PM (GMT)
deceptively tough first round match for henners. and you know he'll get slated if he goes out to a no-namer like russell. but the guy can play and he has a good serve.

and if tim wins he gets the tursunator again. and he hates that.

all in all a tough gig for sir tim.

vivahate - June 17, 2007 02:55 PM (GMT)
gasquet has to win this tournament

Flame - June 17, 2007 05:23 PM (GMT)

LOL the Tursunator, good one!

Nope Tim doesen't like playing Tursunov and I dont like Tim playing him either! But he beat him on grass at Queens so it shows he can beat him on grass :)

The order of play for tomorrow is out any time now and im on edge because i'm hoping so much that Tim plays tomorrow because I don't have tickets for any other day apart from tomorrow :(

Flame - June 17, 2007 06:43 PM (GMT)

Yep :( Just saw the draw

There are some good players on like Grosjean, Gasquet, Boggo and Karlovic so I will enjoy that :) Gutted Tim isn't playing though, that was the main man I wanted to see and get an autograph off!

Maybe he will be practising on one of the courts tomorrow though? Well at least I hope so!

Andy have a great day mate! when I was at Leicester Uni I went to watch the tennis at Nottingham a few times was a really good event to watch.

Dinky Jo - June 18, 2007 02:12 PM (GMT)
Bit of an update from Nottingham:

gasquet won in straight sets against Spadea. He's number 1 seed here, so expected to do well and get some good preparation for Wimbledon.

Simon and Grosjean also got through.

Brit watch (which also appears te be a Doubles watch as well ;) )

Murray/Butorac beat Auckland/Huss in straight sets in the first match of the day. Murray/Butorac are third seeds and i personally really hope they can do well here!

However, the other British pairing Marray/Bloomfield have just gone out in straight sets to Calleri/Lapentti :(

Dinky Jo - June 18, 2007 02:13 PM (GMT)
Forget to mention, up next is Boggo vs. Garcia-Lopez. I really hope his good showing against Roddick at Queens has given him the confidence to perform well here - but we shall see.......

Pebs - June 18, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
what happened with Boggo? It was nice to hear of him doing well last week - soooo wanted him to take out Roddick :D

Just got back from Nottingham :) Was a good day overall! Saw the first match where stretch and booty :P won and they played well aswell. Then saw Gasquet beat Spadea and at the end of the match Gasquet got a birthday cake and the crowd sang happy birthday to him :D Then saw the Boggo match but it started raining at 5-4 to Lopez and it stopped about 30 minutes after.

Then when they came back on court, they was on for about 15 minutes and it started to absolutely chuck it down  Like i'm talking floods! It rained like that for an hour and a half non-stop and at around 6pm they called the play off the day. Saw some good tennis though and it was much different to watching it on T.V, i really enjoyed it!

and...... It looks like I might be going tomorrow again :D :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: Which means, timmmmmmmy tiiiiiimeee!

Weather forecast for tomorrow is much better aswell, 21 degrees and dry up until around 7pm so should see a full day I hope :)

I have some pictures of it too, I'll post them later.
