Title: Britain's got talent!
Sam - June 11, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
Has anybody been watching this show on ITV this weekend?
Basically Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden are the judges, and they are watching all types of wannabe acts show what they've got to offer on a stage in front of a rent-a-mob audience. If they are good they get through to the next round, if not they will most likely get the big red cross buzzers that each judge has roflmao
The prize for the winner of this is a place in the Royal variety performance.
I like the look of this show, it's much better than X-factor, Fame Academy, Joseph, Grease and all that crap, there's so much more diversity!
The best performer i've seen is an ordinary office man, who, when he went on stage, sung Nessun Dorma perfectly, and got a standing ovation. he was that good, I hope he wins! :D

Don't think I'll be watching this one as after Joseph(which I thought was great btw) might suffer from a reality TV show overdose.I do enjoy Cowell's refreshing honesty though.

This show is going to be far better than many of these I reckon - loads more variety, not just singing!

 Yep they were entertaining.
How GOOD was that 6 year old girl at the end (Connie?) Singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow. :D  My jaw was on the floor. SC said...pitch perfect. Even if she doesn't win, I can see her singing in front of the queen anyway.

The man who sang Nessun Dorma was the best act i've seen on it so far - he was so good, brought tears to the eyes!
Opera singer

Only thing going against Conny apart from being 6 is that I cannot stand that song! Get me the knife so I can slit my throat! roflmao

No it's far too sentimental for me and anyway I find precocious child stars and their pushy parents really get up my nose.

Yep. pretty horendous :yikes: I loved the group, that played musical sounds through the mike and the guy at the end was very ipressive I thought. Still laughing at the magician the other night, who ended up with two ducks on stage instead of just the one of course!. roflmao roflmao roflmao :lmaao: :lmaao: :lmaao:

Hi Sam  Missed the show last night. Any good talent around Wednesday evening.

Yes SB. some of the performers are very impressive, honest. Mind you some of them are appalling, which also gives good entertainment.
A magician the other night arrived on stage with a Duck called Domonic and 'attempted' to fire him from a cannon to which he would reappear accross the otherside of the stage in a covered cage. Unfortunately as the cannon fired, it kinda fell appart exposing the first duck, at exacly the same time as the 2nd duck was being revealed in the cage...hence two 'Domonics' quacking on stage to howls of laughter from the audience and a slightly embarressed inept magician.
The price is £100,000 and a stint on the Royal Variety show. Its semi finals night tonight I think.
*Thinks...I didn't explain that too well, but in a hurry*

I only saw the end bit of it, with a bloke singing with his guitar. He was very good!
was at hospital before then, one of mum's nurses, well...

Definitely worth looking at SB - there are some real potential stars on this, watch and hear the clip of the opera singer cos he was sensational!

ahh thats how Tuesday's show ended too. A guy singing with a guitar.
Nurses ehh, can't see the appeal myself.

This is a fab show - wish they would stop clashing it with bb though!! Love the guys that are like human beat boxes but better, glad they got a reprieve last night!

oooo I missed Wednesdays show, so are they in the 2nd semi final tonight then??? Hope so, they were fab. Think the young singer should have got through last night and not the ventriloquist. I've been thinking as his performance was quite poor last night, although the voting public seemed to like it....the pressure is on for him now to pull something very special out of the bag during the final don't you think. That Paul Potts is pretty special though  I'm hoping Tony is in the other semi tonight, he's the guitar singer who was the last performer on Tuesday evening, the one looking after his niece and nephew after their dad passed away. :(
WimbledonAce - June 15, 2007 07:29 PM (GMT)
The monkey guy was pretty poor lastnight but apparently his audition was really good, Im not sure as I didnt see it. His actual show is supposed to be very good, a colleague of mine has seen it as he is a local lad - go Salisbury!! I think it is right that they didn't put through the little boy even though he was fab and far too cute. It's meant to be a variety show, we do not want another x-factor!
WimbledonAce - June 15, 2007 07:30 PM (GMT)
Think there are 3 semis mo, 1 tomorrow also then the final on sun. Yes that guy with the guitar did get through.
Sam - June 15, 2007 10:04 PM (GMT)
Was disappointed with who got through tonight - though the brilliant baton twirlers head had got a little too big I suppose...
The opera singer has to win - he would be perfect for royal variety, a cheap alternative to the three tenors! roflmao
WimbledonAce - June 16, 2007 11:46 AM (GMT)
I was glad the guy dancers got through. Do not like Bessie though, theres something a bit wrong about her. Thought most of the acts were pretty good lastnight.
Sam - June 16, 2007 09:33 PM (GMT)
Well connie and the bar jugglers got through tonight - connie is getting through on sympathy vote in my opinion though
Was very worried when Piers said to her "you know this week that millions of people have seen your video on the web and will have all really liked you!" Just sounded wrong, shows whats wrong with the world that you can take such a comment the wrong way...
Paul all the way!!! :yahoo:
WimbledonAce - June 17, 2007 06:26 PM (GMT)
I know what you mean though. It doesn't sit well with me when you have little kids dressed up and in makeup(I dont mean Connie). Kind of handing it to the paedos on a plate to be honest. I would rather an adult act won. As for Connie though, didnt think she was great last night, a lot of it was off key and I think people voted for the wrong reasons.
Sam - June 19, 2007 09:25 AM (GMT)
Paul won! :yahoo:
And deservedly so, his Nessun Dorma is sensational. Simon Cowell also announced that he would sign a record deal with Paul in addition to the Royal Variety performance. I shant hesitate to buy his first works!
With all of the cheap talent shows of recent months (i'm talking Joseph, Grease, X Factor etc.), this show was a breath of fresh air. Pure entertainment, great fun, lots of talent no real egos among the contestants, and possibly the greatest talent to emerge as a winner on any of these shows!
Connie is also apparently gonna get signed up on a big deal - I'm not convinced though, and will her voice be affected when she grows some front teeth?

Yes well done to Paul (only watched my recording last night) Think Connie will find singing easier, when she gets her front teeth back (knocked out apparently playing with her family)
I think they could use all the finalists to make up an alternative Royal Variety show, as I agree plenty of talent amongst them, and they could bring back the balancing couple....loved them too. I enjoyed this show much more than I thought I would and only watched it from about episode 2/3 as my boss said it was much better than expected. Variety is not dead in this country after all and there seems to be great unfound talent out there. Looking forward to another version next year, if they are doing one
Can't agree on 'Joseph' being cheap though Sam.
:tsk:
WimbledonAce - June 19, 2007 07:31 PM (GMT)
Agreed Mo, nothing wrong with Joseph or X-factor B)
Sam - June 20, 2007 09:23 AM (GMT)
Nowhere near as good as this show though :P :D
