It seems this site is experiencing technical difficulties  i cant even get hold of the draw
From the WTA site, just in case anyone is interested in the outcome of this delightful extension of the clay season:
BARCELONA, Spain - Meghann Shaughnessy will be gunning for her sixth Sony Ericsson WTA Tour singles title on the red clay courts of the Catalan capital on Saturday afternoon, but to succeed she will have to put an end to the dream week of unseeded Romanian, Edina Gallovits. The championship final of the inaugural Barcelona KIA will pit these two players against each other for the very first time in their careers and after the entertaining displays they have provided at the $145,000, Tier IV event this week, the crowds at the Centro Municipal de Tenis de La Vall will be eagerly anticipating their centre court showdown.
Shaughnessy had not dropped a single set en route to her first semifinal of the year and when she raced through the opening set against the No.8 seed Flavia Pennetta for the loss of just seven points it appeared this streak was all set to be continued. However, in the second set her Italian opponent showed tremendous character to dig deep and force the match into a decider. The final set opened up with three consecutive breaks of serve, but towards the end of the set it was the 28-year-old American who held her nerve, breaking serve in the final game and advancing into her 10th career final with a 60 46 64 victory.
The bottom half of the draw has witnessed upsets galore this week and on Friday afternoon the Catalan crowds were treated to another, as the No.7 seed Virginie Razzano was sent tumbling out of the draw by world No.91 Gallovits. Razzano made a flying start to the match, breaking her Romanian opponents serve in the very first game, but this early setback merely spurred Gallovits into life, as the 22-year-old reeled off the next four games before wrapping up the set in 34 minutes. The second set was a tighter affair, but after breaking Razzano's serve in the ninth game Gallovits successfully served it out to move into her maiden Tour final with an impressive 63 64 triumph.
Pennetta's disappointment in falling at the penultimate hurdle of the singles event was tempered slightly by the magnificent performance she gave with her doubles partner Lourdes Domínguez Lino on Friday. The No.2 seeds destroyed the No.3 Martina Müller and Gabriela Navratilova 61 62 in the semifinals of the doubles competition to reach their first final in unison. Meeting them in Saturdays championship match will be the Spanish duo of Nuria Llagostera Vives and Arantxa Parra Santonja, who overcame Alina Jidkova and Conchita Martínez Granados 63 75 in the day's first semifinal.
Final has been played with Meghann Shaughnessy defeating Edina Gallovits 63 62.
Meghann seems to be re-finding her game, although I'm not sure how good a preparation Barcelona is for her Wimbledon campaign, but a tournament win is a tournament win. Well done to Edina for making her first tour final at the age of 22. She was a top 10 junior and has had great success on the ITF circuit but until recently has failed to transfer over to the WTA tour.
