Upon the advice of the trainer, who said that he could make the shoulder worse by continuing, he withdrew...
Smart if you ask me, you don't want to risk anything ahead of a Slam, that first set was terrific though, some nice volleying in there, if he can avoid the big servers, he should make the second week of Wimbledon...

Ill have to PM my response to that. :o

Anyway, back to tennis. Nadal says he might not be fit for Wimbledon ? Its strange he never seems to be injured for the clay season which is far more punishing .
dl04 - June 17, 2006 08:40 PM (GMT)
Well Al, its been a long season for Nadal already, even the most physical specimens like Nadal can pick up littly niglly injuries. Hopefully his short rehab time will be successful and he'll be back for Wimbledon. I hope he is because i was impressed with him at Queens club.
Big Al - June 17, 2006 08:47 PM (GMT)
Yep , hope he's back for Wimbledon. Blake v Hewitt should be good tomorrow.COME ON Blake :D

:ok: I'd love to see Blake win.
Even better if he does well at Wimbledon. He's proving a little something to those who thought his US Open run was just a one-off good tournament.
dl04 - June 17, 2006 10:05 PM (GMT)
I'd love to see a Blake win. He has such a great blend of power and athleticsm. He also has an exquisite return that he takes so early. If he's putting all his tools together, hewitt will be toiling. Blake is exceptional :ok:

I like Blake and am pleased we have a new finalist. He 's a refreshing change as he is dignified and not big headed at all, and has a great presence on the court. We shall see what happens, I like Lleyton from a while back. I think I woudl ike Blake to win, but it is going to be one of thos ematches where I will see what vibes I get on the day and take it from there in terms of who I support.
Big Al - June 18, 2006 10:25 AM (GMT)
Ive never even seen Blake play ,but am not a great fan of Hewitt. Its his personality more than his game.
Wasnt it against Blake that he made a racist comment about a linesman ?Allegedly.
So you can guess who Ill be rooting for, esp. after yesterday . :D
