Sadly, I can only assume that Kuznetsova's going to get better (although it'd be nice to think that she isn't). Ana's forehand is on fire and her backhand's been solid, but she hasn't had to play consistently spectacularly.

Edit: Bagel time :yahoo: I just hope Kuzzy keeps playing like this for a few games in the next set to give Ana a nice foothold.

That was really well played from Ana to break back, Kuznetsova is starting to look much more solid.

My nerves are absolutely shot to pieces... already smoking my 2nd and we're not that near the finish yet :yikes: I never got this nervous watching Sampras!

The costly break was down to a pretty poor forehand error from Ana, but Kuznetsova probably did deserve that set. She'll be favourite for the decider now.

It is a little disappointing the the 7 of the 8 1/4 finalists are top 8 seeds, and the other is #9, especially given that the only absentee is the one with a history of underperformance at the FO.

I may yet be wrong about both of these matches though, Ivanovic is holding serve comfortably at the start of the 3rd, and Vaidisova has just broken back - its now 5-5 in the second.

It can't be denied that Kuznetsova was a long way from her best, but to be honest I've seen Ana play better too. Very impressive, to bagel and breadstick the number 3 seed, regardless of Kuzzy's poor play.

Mind you I did struggle with that one, I was never convinced Sveta would do it, she's a great player but quite unpredictable, all as I could tell was that we would get 3 sets. I thought lack of experience at this stage for Ivanovic might be the telling factor in who won the deciding set. Also i didnt; expect Ivanovic to be able to keep up her consistency.

I don't really want to see either player out at this stage, that just seems so wrong. They have both had their struggles of late so I must take my hat off to both fo them for coming through to this stage, but the journey ends here for one of them. I like Ana's chances against Sharapova or Chakvetadze (although Maria especially should never be ruled out, even on clay), but I can't see her winning against Henin or Serena. However, I can see Jankovic taking out the winner of that match and losing to Ana in the final...

Theoretically, her game should suit the grass too and with her high seeding, she should still be around on the second Monday of Wimbledon so I'll be able to cheer her on.
