Title: Petrova Fufilling Her Davydenko Promise!
Dark_Necrofear - May 29, 2007 02:11 PM (GMT)
As usual this workhorse, the female Davydenko has yet again failed miserably.I dont know if she will ever win a slam. She play at every end of the globe and gets injured before the slams and this is the result.
I hope she can get her act together in this lifetime!

Maybe what she should do is forget to turn up to the 'other' tournaments.....and then come out full pelt at a GS.

As usual she fails?? She has a back injury that could put her out until the summer (similar situation to last year) and in what way is she a failure? She has twice reached the French Open SF and the QF of all other slams at least once. She probably won't ever win a slam (sorry Liam) but many players would give anything to have a grand slam record like hers.

I still maintain she has the game to win a slam, just not the mental fortitude. To slag her off for losing when injured is just sad. At least she turned up and gave it her best shot, unlike some women who pull out at the drop of a hat

Absolutely, and just like Davydenko, the commentators seem eager to hype them both up, as if their the next big thing... can't see it myself.

Im sorry but playing a set of tennis at a grand slam when you can hardly move through a back injury so as not to spoil your opponents victory over a top player is not 'failing miserably' in my eyes. Maybe she wont win a slam but she wins my respect

Respect is one thing and I respect her for playing despite her injury. However a tennis players sense is another thing. She needs to pace herself better to avoid these sort of situations. Its enough she has mental demons and now injuries just exacerbate the situation!

i agree, but hopefully she will get a better coach who will advise her much better on her schedule. Some players drive me crazy with their coaches, especially Dokic
