Well, Mardy Fish-out-of-water lost to Acasuso just now (but gave him a respectable match). That evens it up 1-1 vs. Argentina, as Blake earlier defeated Calleri. Now it'll be up to the Bryans to take the doubles.
Of coruse, US lost 1-2 to Chile earlier, so they likely need this win and a win over Sweden to have a chance at advancing.
The Bryans are up 6-2 4-1. Looks like they will clinch the win over Argentina and keep the US team's hopes alive.
The Bryans make a good secret weapon in competitions like these. Apparently it's the first WTC tie won by the US since 2004! A shame for Calleri who was up a set and looked to be en route to a straightforward win, but good fightback from Blake.
Interesting to see Gonzalez continue his dominance over the American with his fifth win in a row. It's more proof that the commutative property of tennis doesn't work (i.e. Gonzalez defeats Blake defeats Nadal defeats Gonzalez). B)
