Title: My Househunting Saga - Good News!
Description: what a shock!!!

SuperBRAT - May 17, 2007 02:55 PM (GMT)
Hey, yesterday Goerge went down there to a view a house. Excellent location, nice but not wow but seems fine to me except some swine has removed all the original Edwardian features, and I wanted them. :( Well we were going to go for it and put an offer in. Then, I just had a phonecall form George asking me if I faniced keeping my chickens next to woodland (I wanted a large garden to keep some you see, used to keep them as a kid :) My head clicks and I'm thinking of the house that got away after the sealed bids, as it had a huge garden with wooldand behind it.

Surpise, surpise, after all last week's ups and downs over this, the buyer has pulled out and the HOUSE IS OURS!!!!!!!!!!! I've accepted, and I can hardly beleive I have a house now (subject to contract fo course but it's a start)! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

So I might just have a little  later. :D

:janx:

Oh please do, keep it flowing! :D

I don't feel as excited as I should, but I guess that is just all the emotional draining of the last 6 weeks. I kind of dont; believe it as I'd accepted I'd lost it. Anyway I only saw it once, at the most well attended house viewing in history! :D so I have accepted but I'm going back down there Saturday to see it again. Of course I've told them I am totally committed to it to avoid losing out again. I cant; see my hatign ti second time, as I spent a whoel week walking in the woods behind it and peerign into it's garden! The house George likes near the town, which he saw yesterday, - I'm going to take a peek at that too just in case it's more suitable. However I am more than happy with this one, but given how cutthroat ths game s it pays to keep one's options open methinks.

Anyway my plans for this are extending the kitchen as it it very old, adding a nice terrace on the extention roof, sorting out the garden - not that it is a mess, but it is HUGE!!!! I plan a vegetable pacth, fruit trees, loads of flower beds, some archtectural feature like a fountian or statue, summerhouse and maybe, just maybe a small pool. Not forgettign a hobby shed, and an area to park our boat when we get it! if I learn to driv eone I can bugger off out in the boat with champers chatting up blokes all day ;) roflmao

I think I have spent the renvoations budget twofold though ..... :D

I doubt George is as pleased as he was earier. After he's heard my plans to do it up and is now thinking cost! roflmao He is quite keen on having chickens though, although I can see foxes getting them from the woods but hey! You can get some nice houses ofr them. He is really pissed off though cos I suggested having a pair of goats! roflmao

Thanks. :) I'm already in the South but I'm going Southwest, in fact very West! Looking forward to it, I've always wanted to move there. I'm nto keen on where I am but I guess I've had soem good times here, but I am nto going to get sentimental and end up not moving. I'll be on my own a lot but I'll have so much to do I'll be fine, and I'm nto a person who gets bored in my own company - i rather like it. But Geroge's sister already lives there, and we get on well so she'll be on hand for nights out and stuff. She's also got some handy mates who are builders, hopefully I'm meeting one on Saturday to advise on works to the house and prices. :)

Are you based in Dorset? I can't remember. Anyway I'll be able to visit there for weekedns and stuff, i very much like Weymouth and Portland Bill is just beautiful.

I've had a rather BIZARRE TWIST today. Can;t go into all the detail as packing to go away to check out my new house, but I was abotu to take a bath and the doorbell rang.

There was a young man I had never seen in my life. introduced himself as the guy who wanted to buy the house but did little about it so I got rid of him and found a new buyer. He apologised, and told me he still wanted to buy, offered to go head to head in an exchange race with the other buyer, pay a committment deposit, my fees, all kinds! I gave him the chance to put his case and grilled him for 3 hours. Things dont; seem to be quite what they seemed. I'm annoyed with my agent, it seems as though eh purposely scuppered this sale by not communicating becasue he had a bone to pick with this buyer - they'd made a complaint about malconduct in another sale with my agent which sounds well dodgy. I have not agreed to sell to him, but I am so pissed off at my agent  I'll be havign words Monday.

Yes indeed I am in Dorset. I am sure once you have moved and settled you will be fine. And it's great you already have contacts in the area :ok:
