Hi everyone.
Had a terrible time recently with my internet connection.I changed from AOL to SKY,and it was the biggest mistake ever.
I used to use a MODEM,and finally went over to a ROUTER.After months of problems,we had to finally cancel our contract, went back to AOL and using the router,no problem.
Imagine writing long posts and the connection gets lost, frustrating.
Anyone else had similar problems with this kind of thing.
No, but i'm trying to pick a broadband provider at the moment - so that kind of info is always useful to have!
Must have been a bit of a nightmare for you
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/This is a good site to help you make up your mind Dinky.
I m using Bulldog (Pipex now i believe). I don't like them but the connection is stable. I don't like them cause they make it difficut to change provider and never give you their latest offer...unless you threaten to cancel subscription.
I think it is important to chose one that is easy to change from.

I had exactly the same problem but with BT.
They were absolutely useless I must say and we literally had no internet connection at home for two months.
We had to nag, nag, nag them to fix it. They did eventually. But it doesn't help when you have to phone up India everytime you want to remind them to fix the broad band that you've paid for.
Anyway it's finally fixed now and glad to hear yours is too :D
Sounds like you guys have had an absolute nightmare. I guess I'm lucky as my partner works for ntl virgin so we have theres, although nto for free, but it's generally been ok so far. It does help that my partner can generally fault find and fix it himself though on the occassions it has gone down. When i rang virgin once, the cost of the helpline call was astronomical adn they did not really say anything useful that George coudl tno have fixed, but as he was away I tried them out.
