it was truly, truly awful wasnt it?
I think Scooch were most kitsch Eurovision but that Cyndi probably had a good voice - and like that blokey said - might get us a vote from the french at long last!

i'm sure that in the past Eurovision entries were supposed to be sung by a newcomer or something  or am i not remembering correctly? i never really watched it - except occasionally watching the scoring to see whether Terry would actually explode in indignation at the baltic states voting for one another :D

dunno hun, but lots of countries started putting in their bigger stars.
I have to watch for Terry - hes my fav bit! I didnt use to bother with the songs, just tune in for the scoring - but it helps to know the songs a bit too.
Dinky Jo - March 17, 2007 08:49 PM (GMT)
it used to amuse me how outraged Terry would get about the voting - like it's actually something that's truly important. It's a tacky singing competition - doesn't actually matter whether the Nordic states all give each other 12 points or not.
actually i say all this, but i have read somewhere that the new EU states were very excited when they were allowed to enter Eurovision, 'cos they felt that it meant they had been accepted by the West
stradlin21 - March 17, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
i was forced into watching it
and it was rubbish
what a load of talentless plebs
is this the best we can do?
mightyjeditribble - March 17, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
I never really cared much for Eurovision. However, I do think it's quite funny how Britain always sends cr@p entries in, and then complain about supposedly "political" voting when they don't do well ...
Mind you, most of Germany's recent entries haven't been all that inspiring either roflmao ...

oh it was terrible!
we had Brian Harvey on the stage looking more like Keith Flint from the Prodigy
Justin Hawkins who used to be in some crappy band just lowering his credibility even further
Then we had some people they found in a local gay bar singing about flying the flag whilst dancing with food and cutlery
And Big Brovaz, who were rubbish anyway to begin with!
what a shambles!
Lex - March 18, 2007 07:02 AM (GMT)
so do we know who won?
I did watch a teensie bit more and saw a girl with nice eyes singing in a black dress - was that Cindi? Her voice was ok, then I saw a 'group' that were very kitsch and looked like plastic air stewards/stewardesses
If we are 'trying' then she should have won
If it's for the fun (which is what Germany seem to do these days) then the plastic ones - were they Scooch?
As you can tell, I follow Eurovision ardently (will probably end up watching it though)
:P
liam_valid - March 18, 2007 01:10 PM (GMT)
WOOOHHOOOO i love Eurovision, i usually have a party, and my guests are allotted one of the countries entered and they have to bring alcohol thats associated with the country. Who cares if the songs are crap, thats what makes it what it is :D :D :D

I was saying to Mr Pebs that we might hold another Eurovision party this year - did it a few years back, had a bbq and then got drunk infront of the telly :D

OMG - well tbh it was so ridiculous I think it has the best chance, but we won;t win anyway so who cares? roflmao Big Brovaz was perhaps the most tuneful and serious, not very Eurovision mind and the rest were not too hot. expected beter off old Darkness blokie - that song was a mess and sounded like he hadn't practiced it beforehand. I bet hubby wasn't too happy :D

Apparently the other acts are now up in arms because Scooch had backing singers hidden behind the stage and they think its cheating, but the officials are saying its in the rules, and apparently it all kicked off and Justin got quite rowdy about it

Well after hearing about all the 'up in arms' behaviour after the result re backing singers, was thinking its such a shame they didn't have an aftershow of Eurovisision, like they do with Xtra Factor and Dancing on Ice Defrosted, just to see all the antics......it could have been called ?
