Title: Venus def. Martina 4-6 7-5 6-4

OMG! I need a lie down! What a crazy match!

Martina wins the first after quite a struggle, then leads 3-0 in the 2nd, and is two points away at 5-4, before Venus comes back to win it 7-5!

Venus took an injury time out at 1-1 in the third, and couldn't hold her serve, but still managed to keep breaking Martina! Martina will be very ticked off at herself for not putting away an injured Venus...

Anyway, good job Venus, she's got Sveta next...

Here's a pic which pretty much sums Venus up, never say die...

You go girl :D

Venus is intense, Martina was visibly cracking mentally when Venus was just literally pouncing on that serve. I love Venus's intensity in matches, who says she doesnt care! I think that photo completely disproves that.

What a inspirration( take note Murray) roflmao

D*mn, D*mn, D*mn, D*mn, D*mn,

Martina definately needs to work on her serve - it just will not work in today's tennis to have a weak serve.

She would have put Venus away easily if she had another 10mph on it.

What a great fight by Venus! She managed to prevail despite terrible cramp and more than 75 unforced errors.

Martina must be kicking herself though...what a chance missed...

Martian roflmao

Her serve was just atrocious. She took too much pace off it, and wasn't getting enough depth to trouble Venus greatly.

Hey LDF/WB :D

They were both broken 8 times actually, and Hingis rattled off some excellent return games, but her serve  Just brutal...

Venus living dangerously, but prevailing in the end...

Living dangerously is both Serena and venus's forte roflmao Only venus or Serena could have found that extra edge to fight off Hingis, even with extreme cramp. Hingis comitted tennis suicide by taking far too much pace off the ball and almost lobbing it into court. You NEVER serve that slow to Venus, it will get punished severly.

Despite the almost immobility of venus, i still think she played well under pressure despite the disastrous number of errors, i think nearly 80! That must be a record for someone to win the match with that many errors. Still classic Venus display, rock on you goddess :D

:D Hey dl, I knew you'd be pleased...

Venus loves to win in spectacular fashion for her fans, that's all ;)

I know Venus is such a showwoman roflmao

Despite martina's obvious dissapointment, i think she must've known that there was no disgrace in losing to venus today. Martina just didnt have the weight of shot at key times to finish Venus off. Towards the end venus came up with some massive backhands that barely gave Hingis time to run it down.

Go Venus beat Kutzy now, forget cramp you're a goddess after all roflmao
