Thought it might be interesting to look at:
Justine Henin 0-2
Sharapova 1-2
Mauresmo 0-3
Clijsters 0-4
Venus Williams 1-1
Kuznetsova 2-2
Jankovic 0-2
Vaidisova 1-0
Safina 2-1
Dementieva 2-1
Ivanovic 1-1
Overall: 10-19 Not disasterous I suppose
She's beaten Sharapova, should've beaten Clijsters and has come close to beating Mauresmo. Henin is the only one looking comepletely out of her league in this second part of her career, of course she hasn't played Serena yet ;)
Still, she's in a dreadful slump at the moment, just when I thought she was going to be more consistent this year!
The clay season is a good time for Martina to refocus and become a threat again :)
It's really sad to say about a player i really like, but don't think she'll stick around for too much longer. I don't think she made her comeback to be an 'also ran'.
I think the 'should've's in your post Serena speak volumes, close doesn't do it at all when you've been the no1 player in the not so distant past.
I have thought for quite some time since her return she doesn't have a realistic shot at a slam and i'm more convinced of that now than ever.
where is she anyway? she hasnt played for a while. is she injured or just resting? wens her next tournament??
