Title: Hawkeye at Wimbledon
WimbledonAce - April 30, 2007 07:11 PM (GMT)
Don't know if this has been mentionned before but I only stumbled across it in someone elses paper whilst cleaning the pigs....I digress.... if all testing goes as planned there will be hawkeye this year at Wimbledon. I can not wait!! Don't know why but I love this whole challenge deal, makes the game just a little more exciting - one of the better improvements. Really hope it will be there so I can see it in action. Starting to get v excited already about this years Wimbers :yahoo:

they're using Hawkeye in the Snooker World Championship too! They're using it as a predictive tool and also as a what if tool when a player cocks-up a shot.
Very interesting actually

I dont see the point of hawkeye at Wimbledon a they always relied on the chalk to puff up when the ball hit the line...Unless they changed their lines ;)

I don't think they use chalk anymore. Can't wait anyway :P Hope there are loads of challenges when I go.

would help if the line judges weren't short-sighted octagenarians (or very good impressions thereof)

It's official now.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/tennis/6684409.stmIt'll be three challenges per set, however, rather than the established two of the AO, USO and other events. Odd.
