Radek Stepanek's poor run of form continued after he lost to Romania's Andrei Pavel in the first round of the Seat Open in Barcelona.

Stepanek has not gone beyond the last 16 of any tournament this year after returning from a back injury, and his 4-6 6-3 6-4 defeat kept the run going.
The 10th seed had three break points in the final set, but was unable to convert them.
Meanwhile, Ivo Karlovic lost 7-6 (7-2) 5-7 3-6 to Andreas Seppi of Italy.
Vincent Spadea beat Teimuraz Gabashvili of Russia 6-3 3-6 6-1, while Sweden's Thomas Johansson went down to Lee Hyung-taik 6-3 6-3.
Rafael Nadal, who has won the last two tournaments in Barcelona, is looking to extend his unbeaten run on clay to 68.
