Tim about to serve for the first set at 5-4. :D

Nick Havoc - June 12, 2006 01:52 PM (GMT)
Ooh, now I have the scoreboard up. Agassi up 40-0 on Tim's serve!!

Break back, Andre!! :bigwave:

Nick Havoc - June 12, 2006 01:54 PM (GMT)
Deuce.

Ken001 - June 12, 2006 01:55 PM (GMT)
First set Henman :D ;)

Nick Havoc - June 12, 2006 01:56 PM (GMT)
OK, then . . . Win it in three sets, Andre!!

SuperBRAT - June 12, 2006 01:57 PM (GMT)
First set Henman 6-4, well played Tim indeed. :D

Ken001 - June 12, 2006 02:01 PM (GMT)
Tim breaks at the start of set 2 :D Agassi is wearing a black shirt, which seems unwise on such a hot day. Obviously not expecting to be out there all that long B)

Ken001 - June 12, 2006 02:07 PM (GMT)
Tim consolidates the break, then Agassi holds easily. 2-1 Henman with a break.

Ken001 - June 12, 2006 02:09 PM (GMT)
Henman holds comfortably for 3-1

Ken001 - June 12, 2006 02:12 PM (GMT)
Agassi holds to 30, 2-3

Ken001 - June 12, 2006 02:17 PM (GMT)
Good hold from Henman, from 15-30, he leads 4-2

Ken001 - June 12, 2006 02:19 PM (GMT)
Agassi holds, 3-4

Ken001 - June 12, 2006 02:25 PM (GMT)
This time Henman holds from 15-40 down. 5-3! :)

Ken001 - June 12, 2006 02:28 PM (GMT)
Agassi taken to deuce, but holds for 4-5. Can Tim hold for the match??

Ken001 - June 12, 2006 02:35 PM (GMT)
To everyone's surprise (;)), Tim holds to 30 and takes the match 6-4, 6-4!! Great start to the grass court season for Henman, though there was a suggestion that Agassi might be feeling his back a bit in the second set.

sir matchstickmen - June 12, 2006 02:41 PM (GMT)
That was an excellent performance generally by Tim. Agassi wasn't at his best, but I think tim stopped him from playing to be honest.

He's serving much better too! :D

styeffo - June 12, 2006 02:44 PM (GMT)
Good result!

I agree. Agassi to me has never been a grass court natural liek Tim despite winning in 1992. It was nto a good perfromance form Agassi really, but a decent start for Tim.

That should still do tim a lot of good, he is serving well, you have to against Andre too! :D

welshboy91 - June 12, 2006 03:03 PM (GMT)
anyone got any match statistics?

sir matchstickmen - June 12, 2006 03:10 PM (GMT)
I haven't, but i'm unsure the stats are that important here

sir matchstickmen - June 12, 2006 03:10 PM (GMT)
Look on the main tennis places, you know where...

The Dav - June 12, 2006 03:14 PM (GMT)
Tim beats Agassi and there is hardly any reaction on the Beeb! My how things have changed

sir matchstickmen - June 12, 2006 03:23 PM (GMT)
i couldn't give a monkeysa about the beeb anymore...

i'll celebrate his win here! :D

 :yahoo:

Way to go my man! Got in to see the last couple of games and that was enough!

I heard a rumour about a bad back but in the post match interview he was his usual positive ;) self....

Hope he can get in some good matches here ready for Wimbers....

Go Henman Go!

*shakes pompoms*

:yahoo:

just watched the tape of the match (yes i taped it, how sad am i?). tim played fantastic. the forehand was a genuine weapon, he was great when down on his serve and some of his volleys were superb. he may not be the best player in the world but no one else can pull off his miracle recoveries at the net. :)

but it was sad to see double A fall on his bum on match point. and he seemed so down in the press conference. i suspect this season might be the last hurrah for a wonderful player. :(

JymJilly - June 12, 2006 10:13 PM (GMT)
Good post Flame and great match Tim
I agree with your comments. He played great and served great. Poor Agassi falling bang on his ass at match point.
I am sure he has had better days. In fact I know he has ;) He is a great champ but was no match for Tim today probably a bit of rust on his part
 For Tim and  for Andre . What a trouper he is

JymJilly - June 12, 2006 10:14 PM (GMT)
Oh BTW . I recorded it and watched it later too. Whats wring with that
