Avatars are funny things - some of yours really resonate with me, and others I notice but do not connect so firmly with the poster.

E.g. - Nalby and his doghnut just scream "Chairman" at me, and Dark Necrofear's Avatar also rings a bell at me. SB, Chokapova, Pebs, Lex, Ace, DJ, Jeditribble, Tenez, and Nick Havoc are all in the same boat - I somehow make a link between the avatar and the poster.

I guess in part it's to do with longevity - other avatars change - but the consistant themes of Liam Valid, dlO4 and serenasw19 also resonate with me too, as do Trisco's more varied avatars.

I thought I had a mental link with the Dav - but some changes were too big for me to cope with, and I have now lost it.

TV's is too easy - he's just a Fed nut roflmao

Other Avatars I may really like (9mmSuzi's are always great, and Bliv comes up with some goodies), but somehow I don't really associate them with the poster.

BTW - mine has little to do with me, just a nice picture of a player I like (same for the Hingis one if anyone remembers).

What do the rest of you make of different Avatars and their link with the posters?

Your Avatar is indeed a lovely picture. She is my favourite player by a long stretch. She is simply great and her little "faults" in her face only amplifies the beauty of her eyes.

Why Borg? Simply because he is the one that got me into the game. I was never a pop star fan but Borg had an aura which simply blinded me during my early teens. I was so blind that I could not see McEnroe genius at the time (it reminds me some who are still under Sampras's awe).

Thanks for the :ok: I think you guys get my avatar and why I have it.I am Federer fan as everyone is aware but not only does that pic represent my favourite tennis player it also represents my name.It shows Federer in a dark light,kinda like when he destroys opponents he comes across like that.

As for my signature pic,its a symbol of passion...Thats what Serena Showed when she won the Aussie Open,passion!

Other peoples avatars also are quite distinct in my head and are symbols of them.All of the ones you have mentioned above as well as Pebs,Mightyjedidrebble and liam.All are distinctive and a link to them!

I too was a HUGE Borg fan, I lived and breathed him at Wimbledon and would be sick in the stomach if he was losing a match....always turned it around though, bar 1981 :( I hated Mac at that time 1. Being Borg's arch rival. 2. His temprament on court left a lot to be desired when you are a massive Borg fan. :rolleyes: Great contrast of course.

My avatar doesn't not mean anything special to me, just haven't got a clue as to how to get a piccy of Henman up there instead. :shrug:

I suppose my avatar says about me, that i get bored very easily, and spend too much time looking for pics of Mary when i should be working ;) although when she was injured last year, i had Henman as my avatar and said i wouldnt put Mary back until she was playing again, but thats going to be a long time yet :(

And to add to that you have Tomatoe as your signature aka the female Davydenko,I cant fathom that one.You have a great you obsess about and a no hoper.Boils down to personal preference I suppose!

Ye I tend to associate people a lot with their avatars, Liam's, LDF's, dlo4's and Dav's resonate with me, as they are fairly similar to mine in that they show we are huge fans of certain players :bow:

I think Mo is one of the nicest and gentlest members of this board so I definitely associate the little kitty with her :D

Nick's makes me think of him as practical joker, with that sly grin :lol: :ban:

I like Trisco's as well as they're all very creative with a computer, like himself :D

I think MJT's is really good as well, I definitely associate him with that :ok:

And of course we have lots of Fed fans like Petalp and TV

Pebs is just Pebs :P

And Barry's also I associate with him, as it makes me think of him as very open minded and someone who can appreciate a variety of players male and female :)

I think the ones that dont change just become part of the poster and you associate them with their pic - but not always for the best - SW was mistaken for a girl for a good few of his first months here!

that said, I associate the story ones with Suzi cause she makes some fab ones :) and the clever moving ones with Trisc :)

Also the names go some way to creating assumptions too. I mean, I had thought that SW19 was female.. and many people on the board thought that I was female too for a good few months (both on the beeb and CC, I would think) :wacko:
