1-0 Fed on serve...He saved already a break point :yikes:

Tennisveritas - April 19, 2007 10:46 AM (GMT)
And FED has been broken :yikes: :yikes:

2-1 for Lee

Where is FED :( :(

chairman - April 19, 2007 10:47 AM (GMT)
is federer on the same diet as Mirka because his seems to have put on a few good pounds. Nice to know other players are following Nalbandian's trainers advise.

barrystar - April 19, 2007 10:49 AM (GMT)
:o

Worst of all, Tony Almeida of the BBC board is bang on the money so far with his latest alliterative prediction...

Federer breaks back! Very Unimpressive play from the maestro.People were saying that we cant make conclusions after 1 match well we are into the 5 th game of the second and Im not impressed yet and remain worried!

Lee 30-0 up on the Fed serve....

chairman - April 19, 2007 10:52 AM (GMT)
Lee needs a Sampras backhand to control heavy hitting Fed.

barrystar - April 19, 2007 10:52 AM (GMT)
Funny - the old sense of certainty that the maestro used to provoke is entirely gone for the time being.

If that is how it appears to us, goodness knows what it feels like in his head.

I agree nothing impressive from the FED site...wait and see :D

Gone Brry as you said...Still I really found his BH now better than the FH :yikes: :yikes:

What's going on???

A cake draw has saved Fed any decent player would have whooped him in his last 2 matches.

That may be right - but No. 1 seeds earn their right to a decent draw. Fed normally plays his way into a tournament.

Having said all that - the current indications are that since Dubai his form has really dipped.

My guess (expressed on BBC board) is that he has got a bit hypnotised by his place in sporting history and the need to perform well on clay generally and RG in particular. Maybe he has stopped looking at (and doing) what he has always done well in an effort to try and beat Rafa on clay and the traditional strengths of his game have suffered.

Let's see, and try not to put too much on the handful of games since Dubai - but it is not like the Fed we have grown used to since Aus Open 2004.

Business end of the set now - we'll learn a bit more about Lee

Federer seems to be coming to the net more.I think he is slowly working himself into a clay tactic for the season.Good approaches thusfar from what Im seeing!

Long game, stupid error from Federer to concede

barrystar - April 19, 2007 11:03 AM (GMT)
Deuce, Lee serving at 3-4 - normally Fed would start to exert physical and mental pressure on his lesser opponent by at least pushing him to a few more deuces. Today Lee just wins the last two points.

5-4 for FEd ..Come on Lee is not playing poorly..So it is not so easy.. ;)

Tony Almeida's prediction already wrong - he had Lightning Lee to Light up Monte Carlo with a 6-3 6-1 win against the "plucky" Federer who had done well to get this far into the tournament.

Will Fed's confidence return after reaching this milestone?

barrystar - April 19, 2007 11:10 AM (GMT)
Meanwhile, Djoko loses 1st set to Ferrer 5-7

I'm not watching - is Fed improving through the game?

Got a bit of a scare when Lee won his first 2nd serve point at set point down

Deuce from 0-40 down - surely he must kick on from here?

Edit- Game. 5 points in a row from 0-40 down. That must be a boost.

Federer missed a chance to go 5-1...

Just to touch on the racquet. Its a bigger head than his old one maybe thats why he is having difficulty with timing. But a bigger head means a better sweetspot!
