Are you happy about that or not? I am bloody delighted, no-messing tennis! :D

Well I suppose if they are white he is okay! But it woudl be interesting to see him in proper short shorts! Perhaps he has didgy legs and wont; show them off? :D

By the way what i meant in that was the pirate shorts, not actually Rafa having to play in his undies...

I agree. Bring on the grass. It's agressive tennis; I love the polarity of clay court defensive tennis vs. grasscourt aggressive tennis back to back.
sir matchstickmen - June 13, 2006 09:23 AM (GMT)
The baals look like they go at 1,000,000 mph in comparison don't they!?
Denon - June 13, 2006 12:23 PM (GMT)
Is it true that they (tournament organizers) are trying to slow down the courts and are implementing slower balls? I don't like that. It's not pure grass court tennis if you have to make revisions.
sir matchstickmen - June 13, 2006 02:26 PM (GMT)
They've been doing it for years.
Wimbledon chnging their grass to slower stuff a few years back didn't help, but each year the balls are being made progressively slower. Are they slazengers at Wimby? if they are then I can totally understand that they are slow, I much prefer the quick, boncy wilson balls :D

I know that they've been doing it for years, but I'm hearing that they putting an even more concerted effort into it. I believe that Slanzenger is the official sponsor - can anyone verify? If Wimbledon is the Slam of all Slams, why change it?

It should be ultra-fast, sod all the latin-americans who whinge, we want serve-volley to be encouraged more in the game generally, but if players daren't even do it on the grass, they never will

Yep, I'm looking forward to the grass season!! :)
Rafa wore white versions of all of his usual outfit at SW19 last year.. white sleeveless top, white pirate troosers, white bandana, etc, etc.
I don't know if you saw JP Mac wearing Rafa-style shorts at SW19 last year, in the men's doubles?!! He had the bandana and everything.. and berated his doubles partner and opponents for not wearing the same as that's what 'the kids' wore these days.. it was great!!

Looks like Nadal might come through his first match on the grass. I though FIsh might give him some trouble, and he did until the tiebreak, but he's been playing pretty ragged since then, and Nadal is taking advantage. 7-6, 5-1 now and Nadal will be serving for the match.

It's gonna be a pretty useful win for Rafa that, he's plyed a decent grass-courter in Fish, albeit one that is low on confidence at the moment I have to admit
