How good was today?! :D It is so great to see the whole team together - Andy,Tim,Greg,Jamie etc Brilliant matches from both our guys today but especially delighted to see Tim winning. :yahoo: they did good didnt they? some lovely play from them both and was fab seeing Tim back. Wasnt sure it was the right move for him - but happy to see him there anyway - great stuff.

I feel it was the right thing for him to do. Gives him the chance to experience winning for GB again, a nice high for him as he we know his days are numbered. Also congrats on baby number 3, he's been a busy boy ;)

Do you still think they will play Jamie and Greg in the Doubles tomorrow?

Or go for a Murray/Murray partnership so they get a quick win OR will John Llyod reward Greg for making himself available?

WimbledonAce - April 6, 2007 05:10 PM (GMT)
Not sure, Andy said that he was still feeling his injury so it would seem sensible to let him rest tomorrow, then if needs be he will be available on Sunday. I think it would be good to stay as things are Jamie&Greg.

:D

yeah, its great for him to be winning on our behalf again - I just wasnt sure cause he seemed so final about not doing it again, but I am very happy that he is - was good watching him in action today - and seeing the crowds reaction too.

Yep, I agree on doubles too - stay the same and rest our main boys. Gregs probably champing at the bit to have a go too.

Great day it was :) Was awesome to see Henman back on t.v, I havent seen him play on t.v since Wimbledon last year!! Me and my sky less Television :( Was well happy when he closed out that 3rd set and in the end I think it was a good battling performance against a big serving player.

Anyone know what the booing was about when Andy was being interviewed?

And yes, Robin Haase definitely looks like he could be a decent player in the future.

I'm in the same boat Andy - no sky for me either so its scoreboards or the odd bit on freeview now and then. Was great to sit and watch the tennis :)

Think it was when he mentionned his injury and the dutch fans were booing - was all a bit odd though!

From Murray's reaction, I think the thought it was the British supporters that were booing. I think his answer was quite good though "Don't worry guys, we're 1-0 up". :D

Well done Britain! Now, can they get into the world group?

Does anyone know whom they are going to play in September, or is that something that will be drawn later?

There's a play off match in September. Britain will face (I think) one of the teams who lost in the first round of the Davis Cup this year. Some of the teams it could be are Switzerland, Romania etc.

Britain will be at home if the last time they played their opponents was away (or vice versa). Apparently there's a good chance it will be a home tie as a lot of the teams it could be, we played them away last time. (if that makes sense). That's my reading of it anyway, bit complicated really :P

Yes, that's my understanding of it as well.

What I was wondering is whether it's already decided which of these teams they are going to play, or whether there will be some kind of draw?

Some countries are obviously going to be tougher than others --- e.g. I don't necessarily fancy Britain's chances against Croatia or even Switzerland.

yorkshire - April 8, 2007 08:26 AM (GMT)
I think there will be a draw sometime - don't know when though.
