Title: Miami and Indian Wells - deja vu

MrInvisible - March 29, 2007 11:06 AM (GMT)
There is more than a strong sense of deja vu at Miami following on from Indian Wells...

...Canas beats Federer,
...Nadal plays Djokovic,
...Djokovic plays Murray in semi-finals,
...Gasquet disappoints,
...Roddick looks good for a few rounds, then goes out to a younger player

Murray and Djokovic appear to be the favourites, but I believe that whoever comes out of the other half won't be a pushover in the final. Robredo and Ljubicic are v tough players, when not facing the big 2, Chela seems to be in the form of his life, and Canas must be on cloud 9 after beating Federer in successive tournaments - as has been pointed out in another thread though, the Argentinians may be a little tired after all the tennis they've played.

Verdict: Murray v Ljubicic final - Murray to win his first ever Masters series title.

I agree about Deja vu - I would like to agree with your analysis, but Murray has yet to beat Djokovic, and Ljubicic has already beaten him in a final this year.

I hope I am wrong, but I think that this tournament is one too early for a big Murray win.

As much as I see the similarities in the form described above, I think the content is actually very different.

1 - Nadal lost to Djoko this time around.

2 - A better Canas wins a better Federer but while Canas won relatively easily a week ago, he could/should have lost this time despite playing even better.

3 - Lubo and Robredo confirm their ranking and despite their continued success they will always be unfairly perceived as unworthy top players. (that you right is deja vu).

4 - While Nadal was extremely impressive in IW under the heat, once the atmosphere cools down (evening) and the bounce lowers, he is at the mercy of the attackers.

5 - Canas is not a flash in the pan like in IW but becomes a force to be reckoned with from now on.

In the interest rate swaps model is it possible to do a floating swap against a floating swap. If so, how do you do it?

Tenez I like your post here so I will comment it directly:

You know how much I value Djoko  : For me he is really the new factor in the ATP and the best one among the young guns..Even if Mr. Murray could prove me wrong very soon :) ...

Anyway I am really happy this guy is now in the top 10 because I like his Tennis (and once again until now the best match IMO of the season so far was FED-Djoko at the AO...Unfortunately he was not be able to take a set..But he did so in Dubai ;) ..)

IW and Miami are a nice mix-up. predictability can become rather tedious...

In turn, allow me to comment on a couple of points.

I have always agreed to that. I don't understand when some say his tennis is nothing special or that his record against top 10 is poor. His tennis is actually pretty good as he is one of the very few players that has pace, power and control. Simple but deadly efficient and we only have seen the tip of the iceberg as opposed to Nadal and Murray who will always be "responsive" and not "active" when faced against such a game.

However, I will keep my hope alive for Gasquet for a few years to come.

:P I know. I am a superstitious nature but that time I felt I could let it go as I thought those days of Fed losing after being in front had definetely gone but a ghost from the past came back that day and proved me wrong.
