hey, just thought i'd introduce myself.
Im Jack from the UK, was referred to this site from scotsguy, which i meet on bbc tennis 606.

Favourite players in mens circuit are Roddick, Federer and Murray, in that order; and in womens game, Li Na of China, then Clijsters, Williams Sisters and then Jankovic.

I only really follow the womens circuit, and favourite player is Li Na! Hoping she will crack into the top ten this year :P

Yeah loving Li right now, only 1 WTA title to her belt :( but with 6 top 10 wins, 4 from this year (Dementieva Safina Jankovic and Clijsters) hoping she can push herself into the Top Ten, and win some WTA titles!

also i like her because she is sort of my countries women, im from chinese (Hong Kong) origin you see!

I love her game, strong ground strokes, and a very high % first serve. If i remember correctly, Australian Open 07, 4th round match against Hingis, in the first set, Li has 100% serving percentage until the end of the set, which she double faulted! how ironic :P then she missed i think a further few more 1st serves! but still amazing!

Li Na! watch out for her name! B)

The thing is with her, she will play some awesome matches, then it seems she wakes up in a bad mood one day and can hit 50 UEs in a match :o I think shes a cert for the top 10 once she finds some consistancy

yeah, in total agreeance with you.

She couldnt control her mentality in the 4th round against hingis at Australian Open , hit 69 errors if i remember correctly ^^ won the first set, but then all hingis need to do was just hit the ball back and let Li make the mistakes.

this showed alot in Tokyo and the two tournaments in the middle east. Very dissappointing results there, but she has tried to become better. Her new coach is now her husband, time will tell if this partnership is successful.
But Clijsters before has said that Li tends to not win the important points, but now she can. I think she just need that extra boost in mentality (yesterdays win against Clijsters should have helped), and hopefully she can play better and more consistently now

I'm mostly an ATP fan myself - my fave players are Federer and Safin, although you will find me cheering on Murray as well :D

BTW-Jack I'm glad you post fairly often on the ATP and the WTA sections-there are so few of us that regularly mix it up in both....

i really want to see her play sometime, but all the WTA events in UK are always so full.... and then i see pictures and live streams of matches Li Na is playing, where the crowd is empty =,=....

yeah thanks for the info! *hopefully* eastbourne as i like in southeast UK... but she played birmingham last year... and won a doubles title there with jankovic last year... not looking good for eastborune ^^;;
