I screwed up and onyl voted for one. But I am thinking great chances for Argentina, germany. I think dark horses might by Czech Republic and Croatia. I would like it to be won by Croatia or Germany. I was impressed with Ivory Coast the other day.

My dark horse for the tournament is definitely gonna be the czechs, but they always are the dark horse!

Rock solid defence, and they look like they are capable of scoring goals now too, which had been a problem for them! They dive way too much though

Yeah with my limited footie knowledge I think they are a good prospect. I just HATE th eway they play though, as you say they dive, they overact, they are unsporting, they waste time - I just hate the way they play so won't back them! They just piss the ball around in midfield when they are 1-0 up dont; they?

Ever been to Italy? I did and they are football bloody crazy, and if there is a match on the raods are jammed solid and everyone is arguing, swearing and fighting! Terrible. It was Napoli v Roma in Naples where I went. I think Maradonna might have been there it was about 1986. Our hotel manager was really rude and aggressive all night when the match was on, punching the bar etc. He had every pennant form every English club in his bar too! :o If anyone asks where you are from in Southern Italy they immediately identify you with a football team, in my case Forest! :D Really corrupt there too, I hear the Mafia are involved in runnign the teams and that Maradonna got death threats at Napoli. They force peopel nto to score and stuff, or tonigth they swim with the fishes!

I don't like Italy, as a football team or as a country, although I must admit i've never been there. You can't trust them as far as you can throw them!

Their football team could struggle if they go a goal up against a stronger nation, because they will just retreat into their shell and defend as they love to do. It's ok while you don't concede, but if the other team equalises Italy has no momentum. That has happened to England a fair few times in the last few years too unfortunetly, but that's because Sven has spent a lot of his time in Italy an thus we play a bit like them :(

Well I liked the food in Italy and the scenery in the Bay of Naples is so gorgeous I cannot describe it. Truly beautiful. I went to Capri by boat, OMG the views off there and the sunset - breathtaking! What I found though is that the English were hated, the Germans and Americans were treated much better. In fact it was so handy that we were mistaken as Germans mostly so we acted like it to get better treatment, I just mumbled a bit in German and shrugged a lot! roflmao The men were a SLEAZE. I was with a bloke, but everytime he left me alone they just kept trying it on, I hit one as I don;t tak eot kindly to being groped by strangers. :angry:

The best Piza you will EVER eat is in a backstreet in Naples, but tis seedy and no joke - I saw men carrying a coffin past the window whilst eating it, and load sof violin cases - and they don't contain violins. There is a volcano nearby in Pompeii and you can see it soke all the time, can be unnerving but very scenic. d excellent octopus and squid. We found some VER nice Italians in Sorrento where we stayed, very English tourist friendly and stuck to their bars. But most peoepl were rude and ripped us off, and you cant; refuse to pay when six men in black suits come over, serious. If you like Scenery you just HAVE to vist that area, you MUST see the Amalfi coast, famous for al those cool sixties movies - it is TRULY STUNNING from a yacht, ad the view up there on the cliffs downwards is stunning too.

the volcano was Vesuvius I assume, amazing how it just turned people to stone... :unsure:

I'm sure Italy does have pluses, I had a mate who cycled the length of it last summer for charity and he had mixed feelings about it.

I've been to Malta, which is just south of Sicily (Ok Malta is a country in it's own right but hey! :D), and that is one a the most amazing places i have ever been to, especially Gozo!

Oh sure. That's th etroubel with Italy, I reckon it must be one of the most beautiful and scenic places on earth. You got loads of coast, cliffs, hills, cultural cities and historic sites. Such lovely architecture, but it is very corrupt and I foudn them racist to be honest. And some places are downright dangerous, and customer service is very poor, adn you get ripped off! There seems to be a mentality that you can do what you like to who you like, adn the tempers are short and yes, crockery is smashed every five minute sby some!

Well that's what I like about Malta - Italy without the Italians! roflmao

And they love the british there of course, all stems from WW2.

Also the Malta buses are amazing, a time warp if ever you saw one! :D

I love the fact it's so small too, everything on the island is within reach, and they have street festivals every week in different villages, with fireworks, parades, magic nougat :P, and nice women :P :P :P !

If i ever become extremely rich I am definitely retiring there lol
