Title: Snooker World Ranking a Mess!

How on earth can we have the two best players in the snooker world biggest event play in the first round (Ding v Ronnie)?!?!
The World Snooker organisation should sort this ranking system out that is so outdated that it only gives an accurate ranking picture of 12 months old at least!!!!
Being a tennis fan, we can compare the system with the ATP and see that the ranking there is updated every week and takes into account all the results of the last 12 months including these of last week. Murray is now ranked 12 but in the snooker equivalent ranking he would be 47 if not 124.
The 2007 Snooker ranking puts Ding 27 in 05/06 season and 62 in 04/05!!!! Well we are now in 2007 now so at least we should have a 06/07 ranking but no where to be seen and worse we are putting the UK snooker champion and the Masters champion in the first round of the world championship!
Absurd! The WSO shoud get their act together.

Its always puzzled me how they work out the rankings for snooker, but you are absolutley right that they need to put more effort into creating a fairer system if they are producing draws like this. Image Fed vs Rafa first round of RG :yikes:

I didn't realise this was happening now! I may pop down and have a nosey. I have sneaked into the VIP tent they erect before but the last time I went to the snooker, about 10 years ago as a student. I vomited in one of the bins in the Crucible due to alcohol related issues. :blush:
