Title: Congrats to Daniella

One time stick insect phenominon Daniella Hantuchova ended a 5 year title drought after winning her maiden title at the same event. This is really a great result amongst all the anoerexic rumors that during that time seemed to have affeceted her tennis. She did however at one stage resemble a twig but seems to have gotten over this.I hope she can build from this as she is a great talent and a great doubles player as well.

I think all the stick insect stuff was really unkind so its good to see her playing well and winning Indian Wells again :D Let's hope she can have a good run at the grand slams this year!

It was a bit of teasing so dont be offended....She did go through a stage of speculation about her weight which had an adverse effect on her tennis. So the post was more tongue in cheek for the stupid press!

She deserved to win!

There was a period when she looked extremely unhealthy and much too thin - that was a fact for all to see and I am not surprised that it was commented upon. The reasons for that and whether it caused, or was a symptom of, anything else happening in her life at that time is mere speculation.

What is undeniable is that now she looks well and is playing better - extremely well done to her on some v. good wins :ok: and I'd like to see her press on and have some good GS runs as well as pick up a few other lesser tournaments. I'd love to see her prove that she is not a two-hit wonder (much better than a one-hit wonder anyway :D ).

Agreed!

Moving the topic on slightly, which GS this year (of the 3 left) might she have the best chance of a good run at? She seems to have quite a good game for Wimbledon. I think overall she's the kind of player who really relies on being confident in her game.
