He took the first set in his SF against Melzer in a tiebreak. He's currently down a break in the second, though:

Now two breaks down at 1-5. Looks like a third set, for sure, and Mr. Melzer has the momentum.

Of course, the next semi is the marquis match-up. B)

Both players have their ups and downs, and neither is likely to just lie down and go away.

I wish this was a five-setter, it'd be bound to be hugely entertaining.

I have a feeling Safin will pull this one off, but as I said, I really wouldn't want to bet on anything here. Except that I reckon it's more likely not to be in straight sets.
