Title: ATP Tennis Channel Open Info
Dinky Jo - February 20, 2007 05:31 PM (GMT)
This is a tournament which will be a round robin format. Blake is the defending champion, but the field includes Hewitt (if he is fit), Safin ( ), Malisse, who seems to be playing pretty well at the moment, as well as Ginepri, Monfils and Becker.
Las Vegas Player ListDo you think Blake will be able to defend his title?
And how do you think the RR format will affect the players? Some of those players are notoriously unreliable, do you think it will mean there are a few surprises? Or will it simply allow the unreliable ones (mentioning no names Mr Safin...... ) to get through the early rounds?

Henman should make a stunning return taking the title against the odds, beating Xavier Malisse in the final.

Right the Round Robin Draw has been made for this one
Draw - Las VegasI'd assume the gaps are for winners of the qualifying......
Group 4 should be quite interesting - with Becker and Ginepri - both in pretty good form at the moment. Obviously, i'll be watching group 6 - Safin and Koubek......
Most interest should be for Henman fans, he's in group 7 with Mahut - but when he wins the group he'll most likely get to play hewitt - again!

Day 1 resultsThis would appear to be updated with yesterday's results
Boggo lost to Querry :( And Henman's group now includes Lopez as well!

Right, i'm trying to work out these results at the moment......
ResultsBlake needs to win his match, and then I think it'll go on sets........If Blake loses then Del Potro will go through.
The winner of the Goldstein vs. Querry match will go through to the next round, same with the Melzer vs. Capdeville match.
If Kuerten wins his match it goes down to sets won, but if Hernych wins then he goes through.
Verdasco is already through, and whoever wins the Safin vs. Kunitsyn match will go through.
As Liam said in another thread, Henman has to beat Lopez to go through; and Hewitt has to beat Johansson to go through.
Please do tell me if i've got any of those wrong......it all seems awfully complicated
Dinky Jo - March 1, 2007 09:29 AM (GMT)
Order of playHenman is on at about 12 - so i think that's 8pm GMT.
Mo aka Mz O'Hara - March 1, 2007 12:35 PM (GMT)
ahhh there will be some distractions during the POSCARS party then, but as its Turbo Tim, we won't mind :D :D

Dinky Jo - March 3, 2007 09:06 AM (GMT)
Korolev vs. Querry - 6-4, 6-4
Melzer vs Hernych - 6-3, 3-6, 6-3
Safin vs. Verdasco - 6-1, 6-4 ( )
Hewitt vs. Lopez - 6-3, 6-2
So in the semis we have:
Safin vs. Hewitt
and
Melzer vs. Korolev
I think i'd predict a Korolev/Safin final!
yorkshire - March 3, 2007 11:22 AM (GMT)
I think it would be great for Korolev to win it now, based on what happened to him before!
