Title: Tennis on TV

Dinky Jo - February 25, 2007 01:52 PM (GMT)
Hi Guys,

We'll see how this idea works.

This is a thread for you to post links to websites which are showing tennis matches, or to post times and channels on which any matches are being shown on TV!

Also, post any requests for links or highlights of matches, or requests for copies of matches which you may have missed!

Hopefully this will allow more of us to be able to watch a few more matches throughout the year!

Thanks! :)

Tonight on British Eurosport 2 - the Memphis final between Haas and Roddick, at 7pm!

Great idea Dinky Jo! I gather some betting sites have live streaming of tennis matches (and you aren't obliged to bet) - has anyone tried any?

Nick Cica - February 26, 2007 11:56 AM (GMT)
Eurosport is streaming Dubai:

"Eurosport.com/co.uk has live video streaming all week from the Dubai Duty Free Men's Open, where Spanish world number two Rafael Nadal defends his title. Follow the action from 14:50CET this afternoon."

On another forum, someone suggested this:

https://www.jumptv.com/en/channel/dubaisportchannel/

Perhaps someone who reads Arabic can tell us if tennis is scheduled for today.

Dinky Jo - February 26, 2007 12:36 PM (GMT)
Eurosport 2 is covering Dubai from 3pm today!!!! :yahoo: I think - judging from the schedule - this will probably be the Federer match, but don't quote me on that please! ;)

Nick Cica - February 26, 2007 02:55 PM (GMT)
David Mercer is working for Eurosport now, it seems. He was the chair umpire for the legendary McEnroe v Connors Wimbledon final in 1984. Wasn't he at the BBC until recently?

Yes and he's much better than Bill Threllfall, who should be pensioned off!!

Dinky Jo - March 3, 2007 09:45 AM (GMT)
It appears that British Eurosport are NOT showing the final in Dubai live.... :( However, they do appear to be showing the semis from Las Vegas at 8pm and 2am.

Anyone know if there's a live feed at all?

Nick Cica - March 3, 2007 09:56 AM (GMT)
At least you'll get to see Safin live DJ! (I see you and not 'we' because I don't have a TV!) I'm relying on there being live streaming from 3 o'clock. There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth if there isn't!

Here's the TV Schedule for Indian Wells. It appears that Sky Sports has the rights in the UK for the ATP matches :(

Jo, last year I seem to remember the ATP was offering live streaming for Indian Wells and Miami. I didn't subscribe but it could well be an option this year. The quality of streaming improves year by year and I may consider it.

Nick Cica - March 5, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
Correction to the above - if you are in the UK you can subscribe to the Masters streaming but you are not entitled to any live streaming ...

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I wonder what would happen if you used a US proxy to log in from...

Apparently Sky Sports will be showing it after March 10th if that helps!

http://www.atpmastersseries.tv/page/loginO...WT.mc_id=atpcom

It says they are doing a feed for Indian Wells, at 12 euros for a tournament pass

EDIT: forget that, its not available in the UK, why the hell are they sending it to me then???

There's a program called Sopcast which streams a lot of foreign TV channels - one out of ESPN, Star Sports and CCTV5 will always show the big tennis tournaments, including Indian Wells.

http://www.sopcast.org/

I'm no computer expert but my spyware detector, firewall and anti-virus programs have no problem with this. Download it, login (no signup required) and select the Channels tab, then double click on any of the three I've mentioned above.

It's generally a couple of points behind the live action (was 2 points behind my live telly during the Djoko match), but that's hardly an issue. The quality's pretty high, the sound's fine and it rarely skips, assuming you have a half decent internet connection.

Estoril is being covered by British Eurosport 2! some of it during the week appears to be live, and some appears to be highlights programs, but at least it's being covered......

Dinky Jo - May 25, 2007 12:53 PM (GMT)
For those Federer fans (or even non-Federer fans) there is an interview with him on BBC News 24 at 18.30 tonight!
