Another major move by the tennis officials as it now seems that the last Grand Slam is looking into the possibility of offering equal prize money to women at THIS YEARS event.
Should spark up a few more rows with those who feel women dont deserve it!

Ahhhh, that old chestnut about the male ego being threatened by women.....
Come on, that's a bit last century isn't it? That belongs with Tommy Haas's ideas about the ATP Tour being of greater "depth" than the WTA. Yeah...ok Tommy...now prove it..
If you take a peek in the main thread about the equal pay announcement at Wimbledon most people are making many non-sexist arguments for and against this change. It doesn't have to become a sexism or "male ego challenging" thing issue if arguments are put forward sensibly.

to be fair, I happen to disagree with the change, and i'm most definitely female.
Although, i am - as most people know - an ATP fan rather than a WTA fan......so i'm a wee bit biased.

From what ive seen, thats the crux of it. The wta fans seem happy with the change, and the ATP disagree with it. That was certainly the view on the BBC anyway

That's what i've noticed here too - there is a big divide between people who are predominantly ATP fans and those who are predominantly WTA fans.
