An intersting article on the Times.
It talks about the 1983 Wimbledon finals againt Navratilova.
"Only three years ago, though, did Jaeger admit to “tanking” in the final of the 1983 Wimbledon Championships, a tournament she had blasted through without losing a set. On the eve of the final, after a protracted row with her father, she was shut out of the family’s rented house in Wimbledon. Jaeger went to knock on the door of the only person she knew in the street, which happened to be Navratilova. The next day the three-time champion finished Jaeger off in 54 minutes.
“I want to be truthful and to be able to look at myself in the mirror,” she said. “I never wanted to be disrespectful of the traditions and history of Wimbledon, but life is more important than a tennis match and you say thank you in the only way you know how.” "
