What has happened to British Comedy these days?
Was watching UK Gold last night - they have Keeping up Appearances, One Foot in the Grave, Fawlty Towers, The Vicar Of Dibley etc...

What has happened to those sorts of shows? Why can't the producers of today give us comedy like that (I know Vicar is still sortof going)? Anyone could laugh at the things in those shows!

I closed the thread because everyone was sick and tired and rightly so, the argument had gone on for ages, and the only acceptable 'natural conclusion' for you would have been if you got the last word in :rolleyes:

:rolleyes: Please, Sam, just for me, go back and read that thread again with an open mind. I think most of the people on the board will agree with this assessment, but see if you can see how it would be interpreted this way, too.

1. You started a new thread to have a pop at Dav.
2. When he didn't respond right away, you posted another message to the thread.
3. A little later, when you still hadn't gotten response, you posted a third.
4. When you finally did get a response from Dav, you immediately concluded that he couldn't take a joke.
5. You claimed that yours was obviously light-hearted, because of the emoticons you used.
6. You somehow determined that Dav's was not light-hearted, despite being similarly replete with emoticons.

I'm just desparately trying to get you to see your own double-standards, rather than continue to rant on about others'. So again, I don't want you to just fire back a response to this. I want you to really look at the thread from yesterday with an open mind.
