I've gone with Hingis just because she's played a lot more this year - Venus has played what 3 matches since the US Open? Ok she's shown before she doesn't need much match practice to do well but I think this match may have come a bit too soon.

It's one of those rare matches where no scoreline would surprise me - it could be a straight sets win for either or a three set battle with either of them squeezing through at the end.

I agree GS, we really have no idea what to expect, yes Hingis is more match tight (it sounds weird saying that with Hingis out for so long!), but Venus has that ability to really attack her serve...

I'm leaning towards a tight scoreline, I doubt one women will sweep past the other...

It all depends on how either are playing really. It might be hard for Martina to get into Venus's service games, especially when she's blasting 118+ mph serves and then following it into the net with the drive volley. It's really tough to say. I mean if we're going to be black and white about it, venus won their last match on clay in straights so you never know. All i know is it'll be a great match.

I'd agree with GS and Dav - it's extremely tough to pick. Obviously you'd give the edge to Hingis because she's more match tight, but her serve looked vulnerable against Kirilenko and we all know how Venus loves to attack it. If Venus manages to serve consistently well, she could win this.

Whilst I want Martina to win, I think this match is all about Venus. If she serves well, and attacks Martina's serve then I think she will take it quite easily. However the longer the match lasts and the tighter it gets, i would fancy Martina to take it.
