Title: Serena out of Dubai

The Dav - February 15, 2007 04:43 PM (GMT)
Damnit

GS2 - February 15, 2007 04:55 PM (GMT)
Really? Where'd you hear that.

That's a shame - I hope we're not going to have 2005 all over again!

Miami next then I guess.

I know, I was hoping we wouldn't have a 2005 repeat  Looks like Serena's schedule for the rest of the year will be...

Miami
RG
Wimbledon
US Open

And another one thrown in if we're lucky

Sorry Liam

It's not good news when people are pulling out of events this early into the season :( Looks like the 'playing too much' and 'season too long' debates are going to dominate the tour again this season

GS2 - February 15, 2007 05:07 PM (GMT)
Yes the withdrawals have been pretty bad so far and we've only had a handful of tournaments.

Though considering these injuries haven't been carried over from last season then it does indicate it's a lot more to do with the physicality of the modern game rather than the length of the season.

Sharapova out is bad news for Dubai but if Henin can defend her title then she could be in striking distance of returning to number 1.

felixsanchez - February 15, 2007 05:15 PM (GMT)
Serena will be at Dubai! I will drag her there by the hair if i have too!

SerenaW19 - February 15, 2007 05:34 PM (GMT)

This has ruined my day, which had been shaping up quite nicely thus far

O well there's always a minor chance Serena could enter Doha or something, but her march back up to number one is on hold for the moment I guess :(

See you at Miami Serena!

SerenaW19 - February 15, 2007 05:44 PM (GMT)
Actually in 2005 Serena entered Paris and Dubai, even if she did have to retire or walk out of those tournaments. This is worse than 2005 :(

SerenaW19 - February 15, 2007 05:47 PM (GMT)
ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Im just so annoyed!

Russiafan - February 15, 2007 06:10 PM (GMT)
Serena, Serena, Serena ...

What are we going to do with you and your crazy-ass mind games?

I hope you get over your "cold" or whatever is preventing you from playing (a guest spot on a sit com perhaps?) and you show some commitment to tennis

I know  They should give Serena extra big penalties! She's clearly far too rich for her own good!

Dark_Necrofear - February 20, 2007 09:32 AM (GMT)
And I was so hoping for a Serena Hingis showdown....What the hell is up with damn Serena!

bijusportsfan - February 20, 2007 08:28 PM (GMT)
Damn! If she behaves like this iam not going to support her (not that it matters).

SW2003 - February 27, 2007 05:34 PM (GMT)
Well in response to the original title... yes I think is the only word that comes to mind!

I cant believe that Serena who seemed to have her career and her focus back on tennis has let it go so badly again! She was set to play in two tournaments and now has pulled out of both! What is wrong with her!?! I am a faithful supporter, always have been always will be, but this is really annoying. If the flu was real then OK but please... I really hope she come back and plays lots of tournaments this year after this up and down start!
