SuperBRAT - February 13, 2007 07:04 PM (GMT)
Tricky one ......

water to dilute the alcohol and reduce dehydration; caffeine to perk you up. Make sure you've eaten to absorb the alcohol (chips maybe :D ) Try some lucozade to up your blood sugar a bit. Chew a clove of garlic so as they cant; smell alcohol on you and/or eat mints :D

SB is a real pro at this it seems!

I usually just have a couple of mugs of black tea with about 3-4 sugars in each. Really perks and sobers me up.

My God I need similar help right now...
Why is it as you get older, you just can't handle beer anymore, well not so much beer but the actual after effects

Me too. Last night's quick couple of beers and a game of darts turned into 8 bottles of Cobra and leaving the pub at 15 past midnight. I've only just started feeling human and I'm supposed to go out tonight! :D

I learnt a few tricks in my student and early working days. I'd often be drinking vodka until 4am and then be out the door at 8am, briefcase in hand and wreaking of vodka! Another oen in desperate circumstances is a COLD shower. Call me bonkers, but it has to be freezing. Also, a cold flannel or icepack on your head helps. My brother in law swears by this plus prescription strength anti-inflamatories.

after my 40th, my brother cured me with the pharmacist's cure

a couple of codydramols and a couple of Brufen

worked a treat!

timmadigan - February 14, 2007 05:35 PM (GMT)
There is no real cure for being drunk.
The best thing to do in hyper-rehydration, which is best done through IV bags - always worked for me when I was in the army.

liam_valid - February 14, 2007 05:56 PM (GMT)
Well i carried it off :) The first hour was a bit tough but i came to after that. Thanks for the advice guys :)

barrystar - February 14, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
If you woke up one day, feeling as bad as you do with a hangover, but you had not got drunk the night before you would think that you were about to die!!

The things we do to ourselves.....

Yep, my bro in law does something like that. Those medicines dont; agree with me though. And codydramol isnt; a great idea after you've been drinking, so it says on the box anyway. :)

I don't know what it's like to be drunk. I've never had a sip of alcohol in my entire life.
