Title: Roland Garros: Day 7, Saturday 03 June

LDF - June 3, 2006 12:07 PM (GMT)
Results so far:

Henin-Hardenne bt Garbin 6-4 6-0
Hantuchova bt Dechy 6-3 3-6 10-8
Myskina bt Ivanovic 6-2 6-3
Dulko bt Perry 6-1 6-1
Groenefeld bt Kirilenko 6-2 7-6(2)

Justine won the last 9 games of her match with some impressive play :)

Hantuchova managed to grind out the win against Dechy, blowing a 5-2 lead in the final set, but Dechy really gave away the match in the last game...

Myskina looks to be in good form, though 37 unforced errors by Ivanovic didn't exactly help her cause!

And either Dulko or Groenefeld will be a quarter-finalist at this year's event.

Justine looked mighty impressive in that second set, really free-flowing with her full range of clay court skills. The serve was good, deep and pacy and controled the court with such authority. Her forehand and backhand were both marquee shots today.

Hantuchova almost fizzled out again, but held it together enough to close out against the equally brittle Dechy, who had a slew of errors in the final stages to give Daniela a place in round 4. It would be so good to see Hantuchova really going for it tomorrow against Clijsters potentially, and maybe, just maybe reaching her first GS quarter-final for 3 years.

Myskina looked excellent today LDF. Sure Ivanovic comitted a lot of errors, but i feel it was due to that constant retrieving of Myskina and her more consistent stroke-play, particulary with that backhand down the line.

Kim is through, beating Medina 6-3 6-4, but it was a very error-strewn performance; more than 40 unforced errors. She'll need to improve as the tournament progresses, but I still don't see Hantuchova greatly troubling her...

Clijsters look positively awful on that forehand today at times. All it needs IMO is a really hard-hitting opponent to break down that dodgy technique of Kim's, however i dont think daniela will do it....
