Title: Official Snow Thread!
Description: So... Who's due some White Stuff??
trisco - February 6, 2007 11:25 PM (GMT)
Hey ho,
Looks like the last winter throng is upon us....
BBC Weather WarningI love snow, the last really good dump of the stuff (Where I am) if I remember was 1995.. I mean such an amount you can really bound about in, people have to shovel their way out etc, such a long time ago.
I know we have spoke about Global warming on here and I am thoroughly believe the fact we don't get snow like we used to is a direct result of this. I remember almost every winter pre 1990's giving a good amount. :(
I won't get my hopes up for this though, it seems the Met Office are always eager to warn, which I guess is their job but they just build my hopes up as nothing ever materialises apart from a couple of CM. If it does this week, and if you get some, post your pics here, I will be incredibly jealous as I'm sure I won't get much. I think it is due to be more for the Midlands (Southern) and slightly North of London, so, good luck if you get it!!
liam_valid - February 7, 2007 12:46 AM (GMT)
We have been told we have no chance of getting it here in the north west, which pleases me becuase i dont like being cold and wet
SuperBRAT - February 7, 2007 12:20 PM (GMT)
Snow ia all very pretty when it's on a hillside and glistening and soft. It's what happens after that that i hate. It gets compacted and if the weather stays cold it freezes and you cant; walk down the street cos it's like ice. We had that 2 years ago and as they don't grit, it was rather dangerous and restricting. So if it snows, please melt and dont; bloody freeze over. :D
Mind you we had snow a couple fo weeks ago - melted by lunchtime.

trisco - February 8, 2007 09:31 AM (GMT)
Now you are all just rubbing it in aren't you!!! Grr.... To say its a very hilly place the Peak District don't get much snow these days, I have some, at least it started to fall when I was leaving for work but here in Sheffield, hardly any and its stopped right now... :(
POSCARS HOST - February 8, 2007 10:18 AM (GMT)
We have a hell of a lot of snow here - between 8-10 inches i'll say...
I think my tennis lesson is off later ;)
What a load of rubbish global warming is, its funny how the global warming actuvists do go into hiding when the snow arrives... roflmao

"Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
It doesn't show signs of Pauseping,
And I've bought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.
The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-bying,
But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!"

'I hope to get 7 inches tonight'
really should learn to engage brain before mouth...
someone else who overheard me said 'you'll have to excuse her, its her birthday, thats why shes so hopeful'....

SuperBRAT - February 8, 2007 03:56 PM (GMT)
Well Pebs I reckon I only got about 6 inches this morning so I'm jealous! roflmao
There's a lot more than usual here, it's lovely where you can crunch underfoot in the garden, but the disasterous thing is that the pavements are all slushy and very slippy and you cant; stand up! If ti freezes over we are stuck in or risk breaking our necks on ice as they dont; grit my road and it's looking pretty grim at the mo. :( In fact the idiots didnt; even grit round the town centre today, hence it being totally empty. The transport is all screwed up and load sof stuff closed again! My dentist had to cancel her appointments as she had to go pick up her kid form school. I dont; get why all the schools have to close and disrupt everyon  Is it H&S or something?
