Ooh. I like that twist . . . And we voters could decide to vote for the movie we like best, or the one we think is the "best worst choice" . . .

The Dav - February 9, 2007 09:31 PM (GMT)
Btw, when I say any movie you like, it can't be one already used in the game, anything else is fair game though :)

sorry SB, but I love Grease - one of my all time favs.

Sometimes I think its just fashionable for people to say that they love the old classics so much.... but theres nothing wrong with a good old, camp as they come, singalong about boy meets girl, boy tries to be cool, girl tries to be cool and everybody sees them fly off in a superdooper car :D

Grease 2, however,..... :hide:

awww hun  I love Scream and I wanted to do horror films as well - I actually love both types of films.

I had to opt for Oliver as my pic though - always loved that film :)

Evita is actually a realy good musical, i'm a bit surprised it didn't get any votes - mind you, even i voted for Grease so i shouldn't complain!!! :P

Although, let's look at this sensibly - Grease = John Travolta; Evita=Antonio Banderas.

Nah, that's fair enough. I'm not being a snob, I really do love the magic of MGM. Thing is remember Grease when it first came out, being older than most on here, and I was dragged to the Cinema under protest to see it and though it was a bit naff. My dad wnated to go so he used me as an excuse! He also sang along to Sandy and caused me embarrassment as the whole cinema laughed! roflmao Btw if you like girl meets boy stuff check out Bollywood - that's very much the story every time. :)

I love good dancing so that's why i like Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. I also love Sound of Music, Fiddler and Doris day like Calmity Jane - hilariously camp!

And re: Bollywood.. there are those fabulous musical numbers too.. agreed, Grease is very much a Bollywood film!! Musical numbers, melodrama, girl meets boy from the wrong side of the tracks.. actors a little old to be high school kids, it all fits..! So the fans of Grease are all more Hindi filmi people than they think!

4 Weddings and a Funeral is a Bollywood film too.. it just needs songs added :D

And if you're in the slightest bit interested in that, there are a few great Bollywood film clips in the world music section of the music forum

sorry SB, that was totally unfair of me and it wasnt directed at you. I, unfortunately, have the misfortune to know people who have to dislike something the minute it is deemed popular to make themselves stand out (my own mum is terrible for this - drives me crazy!), so I tend to forget that there are people out there who have a genuine preference for something else

probably about time I heeded my own words and accepted that we all have different favourites!

*slaps self*

as for being dragged along to see Grease - poor you! Sandy is the worst song in there and I always fast forwarded through it. To have to sit next to my dad while he sang that in public would probably have mentally scarred me for life! So I totally understand how you feel!

Thanks for the stuff about Bollywood (and you Petalp  ). I love films that are full of choreographed dancing and really upbeat numbers and I reckon they would be full of that - I would probably love them. I make it my duty to check them out asap :)

Well worth you checking out some Bollywood. Petalp will guide you there, he knows loads. The one he was talking about one night and posting clips of is good - I forget the name but if I say it's his dad's fave and his It's the Time to Disco and a song that sounds like they are singing sony on it, he'll know. :D

Hey there

Oh yes, I remember that version of Pretty Woman, it is quite funny! :D I think I got it wrong, there must be two different musicals cos I'm sure that one you mentioned was different. I'll revist your link. I'm off for my Indian food soon so I will probably here the song there.
