Title: Henman's Performance Today
Description: Great, Enjoyable and Promising I think

I think he was MUCH improved, despite the loss. He played some fantastic tennis today when he was expcted to lose in 3 sets. Criticise him all you like, but today he showed lightning quick reflexes at the net and fabulous touch and sharpness. He used great tactics and court coverage, enabling him to open open up the court and hit his winners. He served well, and was confident and agressive. He mixed it up well to quell some of Tursunov's power and certainly had him rattled today. It made great tennis viewing too and the crowd were enthralled, giving an exciting atmosphere. Such a shame though that Tim did not convert the break points in the middle of the second set, then we would almost certainly have had a fifth. And what a set that would have been. I'd have fancied Tim for that, as Tursunov hardly served out convincingly did he?
Well i really enjoyed watching Tim play proper tennis, and those two sets today had some of the best rallies and points I have seen so far. Henman made soem of his shots look so easy and authoritive, that it was just great viewing for me. I just love the serve volleyer stuffing the baseliner like that! GREAT stuff! :D
I hope Tim is well back on track to make a serious challenge on grass this year, I just hope he doesn't draw Tursonov or similar in the early rounds because his standard today is not worthy of a second round exit. He was a completely different player to last night and I do wonder how things would have gone if they had not played last night, as they should not have done given the conditions and time constraints. Tim was great at the net, but so gutting he missed the easy volley for that crucial break, but that is tennis. Glad to see Tim looking like he is on the way back. He may have lost but Tursunov for him is a very tricky opponent for him and in the two sets they played he looke dot have foudn a few answers to that, and given his age and lack of power that really is an achievement.
Great performance today. Keep it up Tim  :ok:

he played great in the 3rd set. He was going to lose because his break point conversion rate was awful

I haven't the chance to see todays performance, however i still feel that SHOULD Tim do well at Wimby, he should call it a day.
I don't say that as a Henman basher, because on his day he is great to watch...but i feel those days are fewer and farther between....and he doesn't deserve to become a whipping boy.
;)

Some credit for Tursunov please? 4 sets were played, Dima won 3 of them, I didn't see the match, I'm sure Tim played great, but Tursunov won...
Also, why did he demand to leave to court last night when Venus managed to play a set and half after they left the court on Lenglen? Nice bit of tactics there by Tim, eh? ;) And unsurprisingly he won the 3rd set...
He'll do well at Wimbledon as he does seem to be getting it back, but let's have some perspective, I know that's hard for SC roflmao

Thanks for that Styeffo. I am hoping his match will be on the highlights show tonight. Look forward to seeing Tim play some great stuff. Like me, I love watching him serve/volley on clay.....brilliant. :yahoo:

I'll give Tursunov credit where it's due - he won the match, well done Tursy! But I have to say that it was all about his power rather than anything else - a heavyweight boxer will be the big fave to beat a flyweight wont; he? Sorry but that's all I can say abotu that.
The first two sets were crap to be honest, Henman wa sjust pissed all over by Tursunov's power basically. Nothing speical from Tursy either, and I have nothign against him at all. I like him he is funnyon his blog! :D

The match was decided in that long game in the fourth set...Tim missed 9 break point chances (hitting a sitter of a volley into the net on the 3rd), and soon as Tursunov won that game you could sense that the end was nigh...

I know LDf, so annoying that one point wasn't it?

A great Message by S.B . What more can be added to that execpt Henman had his chances and thats the difference between winning and losing. Unfortunately as good as he played and has good as his comeback is at the moment the younger guys are starting to overtake him even those ranked 30 -40 in the world and he will never now beat Federer ever again or be in the same league as Nadal. His time has been and gone. He had his chances in the past but that is all history now. The best he can hope for now is a top 20 showing and a few suprise wins and reaching latter stages. He will not win Wimbledon this year.
He will need a miracle IMO. But fair play he put up a good fight and he still gives 100% . I hope he makes the 2nd week at least. You know I would love him to win the Stella Artois . Just this once before he retires.
