Title: Top 20 - Upcoming Schedule

GS2 - February 1, 2007 02:23 PM (GMT)
Not sure how many of you have seen this - it's from the WTA website but is not the easiest thing to find.

It's basically the schedule for the top 20 for the next few weeks. It's updated every week so I (or anyone else that wishes to) could post it every week therefore making it a good resource for anyone who wishes to know the upcoming schedules of the various players.

1. Maria Sharapova - Dubai
2. Justine Henin - Paris [Indoors], Dubai
3. Amélie Mauresmo - Paris [Indoors], Antwerp
4. Kim Clijsters - Antwerp
5. Svetlana Kuznetsova - Paris [Indoors], Dubai
6. Martina Hingis - Dubai
7. Nadia Petrova - Paris [Indoors], Antwerp
8. Elena Dementieva - Paris [Indoors], Antwerp
9. Nicole Vaidisova - Paris [Indoors]
10. Jelena Jankovic - Dubai
11. Patty Schnyder - Paris [Indoors], Antwerp, Dubai
12. Dinara Safina - Paris [Indoors], Antwerp
13. Anna Chakvetadze - Paris [Indoors], Antwerp
14. Serena Williams - Bangalore, Dubai
15. Shahar Peer - Memphis
16. Ana Ivanovic - Antwerp
17. Li Na - Dubai
18. Daniela Hantuchova - Dubai
19. Tatiana Golovin - Paris [Indoors], Antwerp, Memphis
20. Anna-Lena Groenefeld - Paris [Indoors], Antwerp, Dubai

Worth noting that even without Clijsters, Paris is looking like a good line-up. Also Dubai once again looks fab - Henin, Sharapova, Hingis, Jankovic & Serena in her first big post-AO outing (I don't count Bangalore, if she even plays it in the end).

Where is this on the WTA site? for future reference...

I think Elena has dropped out of Paris  I think she got to the QF at least there last year....and with the Tokyo points coming off I'm worried she might drop quite far :(

SerenaW19 - February 4, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
Well she got to the semis, so it's not like she'll drop all the points. But I think she's dropped out of Paris though

She got to the quarters last year but Semisova is still quite a bit below her in the rankings so her top 8 ranking is safe for now! :D

GS2 - February 6, 2007 10:29 AM (GMT)
After a few years of depleted fields it looks like Charleston will be quite a tournament this year! 7 of the top 10 and you'd also expect Petrova to enter as defending champion.

"The 2007 Family Circle Cup continues to attract the top ranked players on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour as World No. 9 Nicole Vaidisova and World No. 10 Jelena Jankovic have officially entered the Charleston event. With the addition of these two premier players, this year’s Family Circle Cup player field now boasts seven of the top ten players in the world including No. 1 Maria Sharapova, No. 2 Justine Henin, No. 3 Amélie Mauresmo, No. 5 Svetlana Kuznetsova, and No. 6 Martina Hingis".

I just hope everyone turns up

I'd definitely expect her to play Rome, and maybe Berlin?

Ye I was looking on the Miami website the other day....Im sure she'll play though :D

I would expect her to play Rome as you say; probably another clay tier one as well. Probably Charleston as it's in the US. Still a while away yet I suppose...

I think she hasn't formally committed to Miami because it's a mandatory event, so she's already entered anyway :)

roflmao If Serena plays half as well as in Oz I can't see who would be able to stop her in Miami. She loves it there :D

Venus does also of course, so hopefully if she's recovered she will find some good form :) She was playing very well there in 2005.

Their Us Open semi was dire too, and their recent encounter

I didn't see San Diego. I just can't believe that Kim lost 64 62 after beating Maria in 2 sets a couple of weeks before. I mean that's just French Open Level choking
