And here - a bit more detail
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...4-23216,00.htmlJohn Barrett is unlikely to have bothered remarking upon it unless he spotted something that seemed a bit odd to him - so there may have been something funny going on.
Assume then, for a moment, that the young man was trying to catch Vaidisova with his watch:
* I think it extremely unlikely that this would have been part of a Williams gameplan - she would have so much more to worry about and would no doubt have told him not to be so damn silly if he had suggested it to her. I'd like to think that members of her entourage would have said the same thing. Also, he was below them so they would most likely not have noticed it even if John Barrett, sitting somewhere else, did.
* When serving you are looking up at the ball so are unlikely to be distracted by a flash from the crowd unless directly in line with the ball (light travels in straight lines)
* He might have been mucking about highlighting a part of her physique that attracted his attention
* Vaidisova apparently did not see it - perhaps the most important point of all
Sounds like, if it were anything, it may have been a silly prank by an over-excited young man acting on his own accord. Next time he watches her (if there is one) he will no doubt keep his hand below the parapet).
I can understand her exasperation - sounds like nothing happened that was anything to do with her.
