Title: Tennis world championships

Seeing as tennis is one of those few sports that has no world championships, do you think we should incorporate a specific tournament for this? Or do you consider the winner of the YEC to be world champion, or the end of year number one? Or some people even consider wimbledon to be the world championships. Or maybe the Davis/Fed cup winners should be considered that years world champions. What are your thoughts on this?

Well I think two things can be decided to decide who is the world champion, first the person who has won most slams that year and secondly who is YE#1 and/or who has spent the most weeks at number one that year.

The actual world Champion of course is named by the ITF, im not sure what criteria they use, but Im sure the aforementioned criteria are at the top of their checklist :).

But if i asked most people who was the tennis world champion, thy wouldnt have a clue what i was talking about i reckon. The armchair fans will prob say Fed and Momo coz they won wimbledon

Davis cup, IMO, should be like the world cup. Ditch the YEC's, they serve no purpose for me and don't prove a thing, the slams do.

Get the whole Davis cup played where the YEC's are in the calendar, give a 3-4 week block for it. Get a real feel going for it!
