Title: Skank Tennis From Serena

Dark_Necrofear - January 23, 2007 08:22 AM (GMT)
Having woken up yet again to rrot for Serena at 4 A.M. I found myself hugely frustrated.I had to endure over 2 hours of rubbish skank tennis from Serena. She really played her rankings worth which was 81.I mean, the last round she was flawless and now this.Forehands all over the show, skank volleys, terrible returns.I mean what the hell!

However, credit must go to Shahar Peer. This girl must have graduated from the school of Sanchez-Vicario.Because all she did was keep the ball in play with spin. But she must be the advanced version of Sanchez coz her balls were landing deep. When Serena hit a short one she was able to hit the winner. However she couldnt close it out and lacked belief!

Serena, didnt impress me at all.Her foul language was also not something I am used to.She only had herself to blame for the rut she got herself into.Nonetheless, she did win and I congratulate her!Mark of the champion!

Interesting fact though. her scoreline was 3-6 6-2 8-6 and this was a quarter final match. Now in I think 2000 she played Hingis and lost 6-2 3-6 8-6 to Hingis.Amazing how history is repeated but in reverse!

Nicole will prove to be a much harder nut to crack!

She had the cold you id and she was slightly feverish in the morning. Personally, I thought shahar should have been done in a quarter of an hour.

1/4 of an hour? The record is 32 minutes by Graf - you truly are ignorant and dismissive.

Yes Serena's match was VERY unimpressive. Her form was awful but atleast she's through, hopefully to raise her level by alot. Her mental strength kept her in the tournament again even when she was playing like crap.

Peer played extremely well. Her movement was really brilliant and she had good attack and defence. However the semi-final with Vaidasova will be very different in my opinion. Nicole will not be able to retreive half of what Peer could so it will be the battle of winners-unforced between the two power hitters. Personally I feel Nicole can be imposed upon.

So Serena your job is to take as many practice sessions as possible and would on your groundies especially that forehand which was all over the place! Her volleys and serve were okay - movement below average. Just step it up next round.

Thanks for agreeing with me.Shahar Peer played advanced Sanchez Tennis and it nearly paid off.Im glad though that Serena at least won in the end.

The Vaidisova match will be different as it will have more pace, something Serena likes.Im looking forward to it!

Serena

Yes it was sloppy at times from Serena, but she was hardly playing against some unknown. Peer is such an awesome talent and really gave it her all out there, hitting some wonderful backhands down the line( her trademark).

Serena so impressing me with this fighting spirit, she's mustering the form of old and she really is just playing awesome at times. 49 unforced errors today, which i thought actually was pretty low for Serena in such a long match  Her serve was her saviour today, and her competitve ability. I agree with her, when she's at her best, is the best competitor in womens tennis :ok:

Go serena! :D

so serena indeed :) her serve was looking pretty sweet there at times.

Peer was FORCING Serena to play the way she did. Serena won the second set easily because Peer dropped her level, but it's a great testament for Serena to win the third set, even though her opponent was playing the better tennis. That was the play of a champion, not someone ranked 81
