Title: Serena vs. Peer

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 01:50 AM (GMT)
Loose start from Serena and she gets broken.

Can't someone tell Peer's fans to shut up, they sound like a bunch of mongs.

O good someone just has :D

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 01:58 AM (GMT)
Finally Serena holds :D

hopefully she'll sharpen up a bit now.

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 02:02 AM (GMT)
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy, sloppy!

4-1 Peer

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 02:10 AM (GMT)
Peer's fans make such annoying noises

Serena serving to stay in the set

She certainly didn't come out of the blocks firing today!

chetanpv - January 23, 2007 02:12 AM (GMT)
We all know that if Serena starts finding her range, the match is pretty much won.

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 02:14 AM (GMT)
Well ye, she's aloud to lose the first set, but Peer is sharp and in form so Serena will have to find it soon

chetanpv - January 23, 2007 02:24 AM (GMT)
what a game..must be 10 deuces till now.

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 02:38 AM (GMT)
time to see some overpowering shots by Serena

chetanpv - January 23, 2007 02:56 AM (GMT)
got your wish. expect a 6-1 set for Serena.
Vaidisova will be a tougher opponent though.

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 02:57 AM (GMT)
Well Serena won the second set 6-2

Incredible really considering how close the first 5 games were.
It all hinged around the game where Serena broke Peer to go up 4-2. In which Peer committed a few errors and a double fault and basically Serena waited for the errors. After that Peer lost confidence and Serena started hitting more freely. She's really just waiting for the errors off Peer at the moment and not going for winners as much

But hey if it works why not? I guess.

I think it'll be a little tougher than that, but ye hopefully if Serena carries her momentum through she should win it :D

Peer, back on court. I hope Serena wins this quickly to shut the inane ramblings of Peer's fans up if nothing else

Nick Havoc - January 23, 2007 03:01 AM (GMT)
Sounds like it was quite a slow start for Serena.

Very slow start; and she still hasn't found her rhythym properly to be honest

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 03:07 AM (GMT)
Well Serena faced a break point but regrouped and saved :D and held!

That's the way you want to start Serena, don't let Peer into the match too much!

Ace - January 23, 2007 03:08 AM (GMT)
Interesting match tied at 1 set a piece at the moment.

Nick Havoc - January 23, 2007 03:22 AM (GMT)
Ooh. Peer pretty much choked away that game.

Serena gets the break for 4-2.

Nick Havoc - January 23, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
Peer seems to be feeling the pressure and is spraying UEs all over the court.

Serena holds easily for 5-2.

Serena gets the break for 4-2.

Are you still on the second set?

If so yeah, Peer did pretty much choke in that game.

Nick Havoc - January 23, 2007 03:26 AM (GMT)
Yeah. I just realised that my TV feed is a bit behind. Yes, this is second set.

So what's actually happening . . . ?

Nick Havoc - January 23, 2007 03:28 AM (GMT)
Ahh. Serena with a break point to go up 3-1 in the third. And she converts it. :ok:

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 03:30 AM (GMT)
I haven't said anything as its still early in the third, 2-1 Serena

Marathon game on Peer's serve, Serena slowly improving, but not bossing the points and not really driving with her full force yet. Peer is still very much in this.

As I type I get enthralled as Serena gets a break point and breaks with a fantastic forehand slam dunk winner :D

Serena now serving to go up 4-1..hopefully.

Ace - January 23, 2007 03:31 AM (GMT)
Things looking good for serena here

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 03:34 AM (GMT)
Serena would have to commit the biggest choke of her career to lose this now.

 It's only a one-break lead, though.

Yes, I just meant that ahead in the match, confident with the ability to up her game, against someone relatively inexperiencd*, it would be difficult to see her lose now.

And I open my big mouth and jinx her as Peer breaks back.

*inexperienced is probably the wrong word there, not as much experience is what I meant.

Breal back Serena

Nick Havoc - January 23, 2007 03:39 AM (GMT)
And now it's 0-40 on Serena's serve. :o

I'll be surprised if Serena loses, but I think "biggest choke of her career" is an exaggeration.

They're back on serve . . .

Nick Havoc - January 23, 2007 03:41 AM (GMT)
Don't worry. She'll break straight back and then serve it out. ;)

See my above post :D

Also, Serena has only blown leads of 4-1 or more in the final set like 4 times in her career so....

But I was exaggerating though yes.

OK, maybe not. 4-4

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 03:46 AM (GMT)
Are you watching this Nick or are you still behind?

Serena COULD'VE broken there, but committed a lot of silly errors.

New balls, Serena really needs to hold at this critical point in the match :(

Thanks for rubbing it in my face ace  :P

Well Serena being the fighter she is, hold off loads of break points and leads 5-4 on serve and forces Peer to serve to stay in the match :)

Ace - January 23, 2007 03:53 AM (GMT)
Hhaha lol.

15-15

I hope Serena doesn't break here. :)

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 03:59 AM (GMT)
Stupid Serena

5 all.

Hold here

I just want to go to sleep :(

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 04:04 AM (GMT)
Peer serving for the match, looks like I well and truly jinked Serena :(

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 04:11 AM (GMT)
:yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

Serena likes to live dangerously, came with 2 points of defeat but broke back

Please hold

At this point they've won 100 points each

SerenaW19 - January 23, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
Serena wins 8-6 in the third :yahoo:

What a total goddess and well played Peer

Serena likes to give her fans some entertainment though :D

(49 UEs from Serena in all but you can't complain I suppose)

liam_valid - January 23, 2007 04:26 AM (GMT)
Well that last set was a real nail biter i could hardly watch :yikes: Well done Serena :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: I absolutely loved her reaction after that match point, she still had a smile on her face when signing autographs

You are right, those lot were flaming loud, see how silent there were at the end. I was routing for peer but those fans peed me off.

vivahate - January 23, 2007 05:02 AM (GMT)
