You go BROTHERS! roflmao

I suppose it can seem cliquey at times as we all know each other, but I'd say most of us are welcoming to newbies with the odd exception where some just don't get on of there is bad blood between them from the BBC days. I and others go out of their way to chat to new people, so I don't see what the problem is. When I joined th eBBC I'd never been on a MB before and I'm not used to these things. I made an effort though and posted bloody everywhere and with everybody (much to some's dismay! :D ) but I fitted in quick enough. You gotts make some effort Alsion, you cant; just expect people to come to you. :) And stop drinking :coffee: , that really winds me up! roflmao

SuperBRAT I can confirm...Same poster than at the BBC...And I can confirm as well you did not miss a lot ...A part might be some (quite boring at the end) discussions about FED being arrogant and all possible philosophical implications (how she was able to be so deadly sure that this guy is arrogant is something beyond me: She does not know Roger Right??? Or might be she shares the coffee with him even now :yikes: :yikes: Poor Roger in that case roflmao roflmao ) ... Anyway, she was able to repeat this main argument at least 1000000000 times a day...  ...Quite boring at the end...

Hi trisco..You did indeed chose the right place: Zermatt was the only one in that area with enough snow...Moreover, it is a very nice place..Despite the fact I went there only once...I am more a Verbier :ok: fan...Anyway now is snowing.

Global warming is just so SAD.. :( :( It is the first time in my live that there was no snow until (almost) the last week of Jan :yikes: :yikes: ...

SuperBRAT - January 23, 2007 04:46 PM (GMT)
Thanks for confirming that Tennis V :) Oh dear, what a loser! roflmao

I think I remember now, I tended to ignore her posts as they were rather boring. I think she must have been 'mynameisalison', what an imaginative nickname that is. ;)

barrystar - January 23, 2007 05:01 PM (GMT)
There were certainly "camps" at the Beeb messageboard. I don't see a clique here - just a bunch of people who, by and large, respect each other's differing views. Federer does have a lot of fans it seems, but that is not a huge surprise and not everyone likes him.

The fact that Wise and Chet rub along well with everyone as far as I can see tends to suggest that there are no cliques.

That said, this board is not a place for anyone who wants repetitively to vent a strong personal dislike for any player. I think it's a huge improvement on the beeb.

Anyone who cared to look at my offerings on the Beeb board will know that I did not like the mynameisalison/Alison2006 persona, but if she is not going to hang around here there is no need for any of us to dwell on that anymore.

She has also indicated in a post on here that she had a very tough 2006 (something I never knew) and it is only fair to make allowance for that.

trisco - January 23, 2007 05:14 PM (GMT)
I didn't really post on the BBC towards the end so didn't know of her but she did seem fine on here from what I saw.
Her decision in the end I guess.

Nice post by the way BStar, I think you described perfectly how the board is. :D

Pebs - January 23, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
sorry that you feel CC is a bit to 'cliquey' for you Alison, I dont know that I feel that to be the case, but if you really do wish to close your account, I am sure one of the admin people would be happy to do so for you.

However, as already mentioned, most people seem to get along just fine - though they may post in different places, either just in ATP, WTA or in the social bar, or a mix of it all, and if you give it a bit longer, you may find its actually more to your liking.

:)

Good post. :) I think you are right about Chet and Wise getting on with everyone else. Despite what happened on the BBC, there's bene a very tolerant give -folk-a-fresh-chance attitude to membership on here. I can't speak for everyone, but generally people seem to have burried their grudges. I dont; think I've had any run-ins with Alison on here and certainly have nothign against her posting here and have no grudge against her. I never liked her on the BBC though, hence commenting on it. Then again I never liked Wise and slagged him off on the BBC but we get on fine on here. I think anyone who comes to this board havign not got on so well with some members in the BBC days CAN put that behind them if they are willing to make the effort. If Alsion has had a tough time then I'm sorry to hear that. :(

Yeah - that was kind of my point. Also, I did not want this thread to turn into a series of good-bye good riddance messages, which it rather felt to me that it was. That did not seem to me to be in the spirit of this board, especially when Alison had indicated her intention not to be around to respond.

If Alison wants to criticise the regulars saying there are cliques going on, then it's only fair that the regulars get the chance to say their piece, whether Alison is here to read it or not

I agree I felt her comments were snide and very much in a "I'll stick my finger up at you as I walk out the door" style.

I don't think anyone genuinely dislikes Alison here; but if she is going to start an attention seeking thread and make unfair jibes about how well everyone gets on here then I think the response is perfectly justified.

I'd agree with that too. If she did not like it here Alison would have been better off slinking away quietly without a parting shot criticising the board.

No big deal either way as far as I am concerned :ok:

The big deal is that I like mucking about on here even though I am not really a regular.

If you have posted over 20 you become a regular I think :)

Actually I think those of us who tend to post in the WTA sections tend to have higher post counts
A) Because we just waffle about a load of crap most of the time
B ) Because we also post in the ATP as well, whereas most ATPers don't tend to post in the WTA...on the whole.

Also Barry if you're worried about letting your post count get too high don't visit the social bar...you'll never leave! roflmao
