Title: Nadal defeats an Error-prone Wawrinka

ElHuegi - January 20, 2007 12:11 PM (GMT)
Nadal looked much stronger than he did in the previous rounds and sailed through the match 6-2 6-2 6-2. His Swiss opponent looked nervous and unsure of himself and -as a result- commited many many unforced errors. Wawrinka had alot of trouble getting his service games through as Nadal made it very difficult to play offensively. When Wawrinka DID manage to move closer to the net, he could put the Spanniard under pressure, resulting in more winners for the Swiss. Most of the time though, Nadal managed to force Wawrinka way behind the baseline and dominate him at will. To make matters worse for Stan, Nadal was serving sublimely for his standards, managing a first serve percentage of 74%, making it impossible for his opponent to trouble him consistantly. Wawrinka only broke Nadal once!
All in all then, a very strong performance from Nadal, helped by Wawrinka's inability to impose his game on him and by his many unforced errors. If he can play like this in the next round, I can't see Murray beating him (presuming he gets through of course).

Fully agree ElHuegi: I saw the entire match and I share your analysis. Stan was far too unsure about which strategy to follow and this leads him to miss plenty of FH approaches to the net (ok his FH is definitely his weak part but this morning it was just a shame :( )

Nadal was good but I do not share the view he was playing as a god...Come on he was the usual very consistent no unforced error Rafa ( was he so different from his semi at the YEC?? IMO no a part might a better serve mouvement :P ).

So, I still  to see him against the Big power boys, i.e. Both Blake and Berdy: I really believe he had the chance to beat them both because this is the most favourable surface for him to do that outside clay...Still both these matches would be difficult to call IMO.

As a conclusion given the poor performance of Stan this morning (a really bad day for the "real" -Wise & Chet dixit-Swiss number 1) I am not so sure about the quality of nadal Tennis: i want to see him against Blake..Please give me this match

More details on this match Here

It si funny that Stan pointed out after the match the following:

"He (Federer) tells me (about how to handle Nadal) but my game and Roger's game is not the same," Wawrinka said.

Shame on you Stan: Here our trolls continue to believe you are the real swiss number 1. It is you that you need to give some advice to FED not the other way round...What are you doing? roflmao roflmao
