Title: AO Fashion Stakes

Who is hot and who is not at this years AO

I think Murray looks awful in his outfit. That stripe that goes across his shoulders makes his frame look totally out of proportion, and would suit someone with a much bigger musclature than him. And why is he wearing one black sock and one white sock?

Nadal on the other hand has put a bit more thought into his ensemble. A sleeveless top to draw attention to his enviable arms, plus wearing the traditional gold and green colours of Australia are guaranteed to make him a winner with the home crowd.

Ollie Rochus looked great in his outfit. His t-shirt and shorts obviously tailored to his shape and size, rather than just a standard size like some, he is obviously a man who likes to look his best, which is testament to his huge female following.

Grosjean is one of the guys who obviously just picked the standard size, and is not that bothered by his on court appearance, which would explain that awful back to front 80's style cap.

Serena, not as eye catching as usual, but her green and white combo really suits her and it's probably a good thing she is not drawing to much attention to herself this year. Her first round green dress also complemented her without drawing attention away from her beauty.

Kuznetzova looks drab in a plain white outfit with a skirt that doesn't know what style it's supposed to be.

Hingis looks classy in her black and white 2 piece. Unfortunately, it's the same as home favourite Molik so she will be fuming

Sharapova looks nice enough, but maybe she sjould cover her arms up to avoid sunburn.

Fashion winners:

Serena looks amazing as always. Rochus is the best dressed male.

Well last night produced a couple of disasters.

Mauresmo, what ARE you doing? She should not be wearing such a skimpy outfit when she has such a muscular build. She might be happy be showing off her muscles but we don't want to see that on a lady, something a little less tight next time please.

Kirilenkos outfit matched her game. Shocking.

I really like Serenas green dress, but my aunt Jane says she needs a longer skirt to cover her fat bum :o

The only saviour of the day was the lovely JJ, whos dress was quite understated compared to the infamous banana, put the plain white complimented her tan and dark features.

In fact, Dementieva should have swapped outfits with Momo, she would have suited Amelies strappy number, while her baggy top would have fit Momo better

I love Maria K's outfit, it is the best so far, tennis fashion at its best. For the men Nadal never gets it wrong especially the pants are tip top.

I thought that Amelie looked really nice in that number against Poutchkova! Mind you, she's looking in great shape right now, and would surely look good in most things.. :)

Whats going on here then? First Hingis goes off court for a pee, and comes back with a different outfit, blue and white. But on Vodafone at the same time, both Chakvedatze and Schnyder have got the same blue and white outfit :o Are the AO organisers buying in job lots or something because i have noticed the same green and white dress being worn by quite a few women too. Only Hantuchova seemed to have a personal style going on yesterday with her tutu like dress which looked awful on her skinny frame

So do I, why nto show off her muscles. I think hers look a lot nicer than Nadals. roflmao Seriously, I always like Mausresmo's look. She looks like a serious sportswoman, and keeps it simple. Soem fo the others dont; look like they are going to play tennis, and Sharapov'as yellow dress (a bad taste colour that suits few people) looks liek she raided the teenage section at Top Shop to me. :D

:) Oh on the men - I disagree about Murray Liam, becasue he has done something that somone should have done years ago - revived the marvellous Fred Perry label.   Fred Perry has never gone out of fashion, and is so English too. I liek wooden beaded necklaces too! FP is a mod/scooter emblem, and I notice that the price of them has gone up a lot lately. I wish I'd saved mine cos they sell at vintage sales for about 20 quid a top. :( Makes a change to see someone wear a Brtish label, instead of just another Amercian company. And after all, Perry was one of the GOAT tennis players  Well I see plenty of FP at scooter rallies, perhaps Murray should come but I'd leave the hat behind. roflmao He just a needs a lonsdale sweatshirt and bag and some Ben Sherman boxers and he's away. :D

Federer always looks cool, love the bandanas, but I thought in hsi match against Djoko that the shorts looked liek they didnt; match the top as there were stripes on the side and it was fussy, but just a minor thing and the pale blue suits him. Nadal's outfit is not my thing, I find those muscles a bit much tbh and his pants look like that would make him sweat a lot, surely cotton shorts would be more practical? Still I guess he has his own look, but yellow and green? A giant canary springs to mind! Maybe he supports Norwich ..... :D

Lay off grosjean, I like him roflmao Simple but classy. Not too many outfits to get excited about really, not that I have seen anyhow. We need pics.

Nadal for the men. He always looks great. I particularly liked the red/black combo for the USO.

Shahar Peer for the ladies. She looked wonderful in the orange outfit last night. Shame she couldn't win though - I was rooting for her.

I wish Andy Roddick would stop wearing the baseball cap. I hate it. He always fiddles with it and with his shirt. SO annoying!

I agree about Nadal, he always looks great, but i would have to put Ollie Rochus above him this tournament. I wasnt keen on Peers orange outfit, but its better than Hantuchovas parachute skirt
