Who will win Warsaw...it's tough to pick.

Kim has been very erratic recently, so this is valuable match practice ahead of Roland Garros. However, she has the dangerous Schiavone waiting in the QFs, so that will be a stern test.

Martina has an incredibly tough draw. However, I do think she can get past Venus, but then she has to face Kuznetsova, who's been in excellent form. That said, she has been struggling with injury and may be a bit rusty. Schnyder should easily come through her quarter, considering the withdrawl of Groenefeld. Dementieva should be able to come through her quarter too, but we all know she can be so up-and-down. When she's on, her game is spectacular on clay.

Hingis V Kirilenko today

I would like to be oppurtunistic and say Makiri to win but its very unlikely. This year, she has taken Daveport (twice) and Sharapova to 3 sets, and beaten Petrova. However, Hingis beat her 6-2 6-1 in Tokyo. Makiri is good on clay; she took Serena to 3 sets in 2002 at RG, she needs to beat Hingis to climb even higher in the game.However, this is unlikely. I am sad tos ay I predict straight sets for Hingis.

But yes, I think Hingis will have too much for Kirilenko. The clay doesn't do too much for Maria's game, and as well all know Hingis has the variety and skill to overwhelm her opponents on this more tactical surface. Maria doesn't have the power to blast Martina off the court; I feel she can sometimes be a bit passive with her groundstrokes. Martina in straight sets.

Jelena Jankovic has lost AGAIN, this time to Chakvetadze, 7-5 6-3, and her miserable run continues.

I think there may have been a rain delay - either that or the live scoreboard keeps messing up.

Anyway, the latest score is 4-4 in the 2nd set, but Kirilenko has 3 BPs!

Kirilenko failed to serve out the set at 5-4, and Hingis is now serving at 5-5...

But the scoreboard's crashed again :angry:

And Hingis has edged out the young Russian 7-5 7-6.

There were 13 breaks in total.

Remember, on clay, particularly on the women's side, there will be more breaks than say on a hard court.
