Title: Australian Open

I saw no other thread yet for specifically this. So I made it.
The draw is not wide open at all but I have to feel more optimistic for my favourite, Serena.
With Davenport, Venus and Justine gone there is 3 major competitors out of the window.
She still obviously has Shazza, Momo, Hingis and Clijsters left.
In realistic terms with Henin gone I believe Hingis can genuinly win this on the Rebound Ace. But I also think any of the four above could take it and I wouldn't be surprised.

Yes everyone's odds' has increased. Hingis had a great chance before but now she is definitely joint favourite for me.

Yep Hingis looks to be doing great :ok: I see Justine as her greatest nemesis on the tour these days, so she has a great chance now :)
Does anyone know what day next week the draw is made?

Anyone know what channel this is going to be airing on live in the UK?
I just checked SkySports and the next live tennis appears to be the Davis Cup. Is it live on Eurosport?

Jonny Marray (GBR) beat Andre Ghem (BRA) 6-3, 7-6
Matthew Ebden (AUS) beat Richard Bloomfield (GBR) 6-3, 5-7, 8-6.
Wesley Moodie (RSA) beat Jamie Baker (GBR) 6-2, 6-4

Anne Keothavong (GBR) beat Junri Namigata (JPN) 6-4, 6-4
Timea Bacsinszky (SUI) beat Mel South (GBR) 6-3, 7-6 (4)
Although it's a good start for both Anne and Katie, their next round opponents (Cornet and Pavlyuchenkova) are potentially two future WTA stars so might trash our girls :(
Apparrently Mackin has been working with Pat Etcheberry who beefed up Juju before her Australian win in 2004.

Hingis gets Dechy in the first round?!
Could be tricky for her. :(
