Hi Everyone!

The Musée Grévin in Paris has many wax statues of French and international celebrities. Amongst the tennis players represented, Mauresmo has a statue, but not Mary :yikes: :yikes: The last French woman to win at RG, the last French woman to reach the final, and the last Frenchwoman to win a ladies doubles title. No disrespect to Momo, but this is outrageous that the French people would honour someone who chokes in front of her native people in favour of their true champion :angry: :angry: :angry:

Heres a link to a petition i found to try and remedy this travesty:

http://www.mesopinions.com/Une-Stat...0f94e4c1c8.html

If you subscribe to the petition, you will get a validation e-mail on which there is a link to click on to confirm the signature???

here's the translation of the form you need to fill in:

Nom = Name
Nationalité = Nationality
Profession = Employment
Commentaires= Comments (you can leave your comment in English!)

Please come and help Mary get her statue! Advertise this petition!

Thank You So Much!

one thing stands out: Amelie had been ranked number 1 in the world. That should count a lot more when you say both of them have won 2 GSs (Singles).

You must know what the RG crowd are like, i am sure winning their home slam means more to the French people than being ranked number 1

Yeah but Mary did all her stuff before Momo - achieved more in eyes of the French with FO win and wins over Graf et al. I like Momo but she doesn't deserve that over Mary. Still, down to the fact that Mary wasn't French-raised ie grew up in France, I suppose. Still, I don't think either have achieved enough to have a statue raised in their honour. A few other things but not statues..... :whistle:

Mary considers herself French. She made a quote after winning RG that in the French publics eyes, if she wins she is French, if she loses she is Canadian. All she wants to do is make her people happy. For all the #### she has gone though during her career, she deserves a medal, let alone a statue :bow: :bow: :bow:

lol she was only born in Montreal because her mum was on a trip there and she unexpectedly gave birth!!!! Mary has never actually lived in Canada
